Nissan reports nearly $5 billion loss after shutting factories

If Nissan brought back the RB30 engine I believe the company could be easily saved.
We need more straight six engine cars, especially sedans
Dangerous-Sock-3688@reddit
A new Juke would do a better job saving Nissan tbh
KumagawaUshio@reddit
They have a new Juke coming https://uk.nissannews.com/en-GB/releases/nissan-unveils-all-new-all-electric-juke-advancing-its-european-electrification-strategy

the caption should have stayed in drafts lol bro ðŸ˜

I feel like bringing back the RB30 probably wouldn't solve anything for Nissan at this scale. Most people don't care about engine layouts anymore, they're focused on hybrids and SUVs now.
Chrodesk@reddit
thats bait
kstetter@reddit (OP)
It's one of their best engines, excluding the V8
Capri280@reddit
The same RB30 that was last used more than 3 decades ago. Is this a troll post?
kstetter@reddit (OP)
No, while it's not the best straight six I do believe all companies should go back to I6s instead of V6s for six cylinder cars
mada447@reddit
Because people buy Nissans for their engines. Right? /s

Delusional Fanboy Take of the week material right here
kstetter@reddit (OP)
I'm not a fan of the RB30, it was one of the worst straight six engines on the market.
Ford's straight six was better even then
StanknBeans@reddit
I stand corrected. Just straight Delusional Take of the week material.
kstetter@reddit (OP)
The Ford Maverick would have been much better with a Ford straight six than the RB30 it came with
mada447@reddit
No it wouldn’t. Because then it would have to be priced $10k higher at the minimum, and it wouldn’t sell.
Round_Ad_6369@reddit
Obviously the maverick would've sold better with a predator engine, duh
mada447@reddit
What? Is a hybrid.
Round_Ad_6369@reddit
Sarcasm.
kstetter@reddit (OP)
I was talking about the old Ford Maverick with the RB30 in Australia.
LongjumpingLock5875@reddit
Obviously enthusiasts are not the main priority for a brand.
But to think that there is not a singular Nissan product any of my family would even consider, it doesn't look good.
Even the Nissan Z is very very flawed for the price from factory, it is a cool car, but you have to put more money into it just to make it a competent sports car.
lurpeli@reddit
The "new" Z has so many components still from the old Z. Like... it's basically an old car right off the lot.

r/cars paradox statement
kstetter@reddit (OP)
Ford is doing well being an enthusiast focused brand
ArcticBP@reddit
Ford discontinued sedans 6 years ago and the inly car they sell doesn’t have any six, let alone a straight six
kstetter@reddit (OP)
Didn't they do that with the Lincoln pickup trucks? they sold well in Mexico
V8-Turbo-Hybrid@reddit
Are you trying to say Nissan made same mistake in late 90's ?
kimi_rules@reddit
No, making V6s or I6s will obviously not save Nissan right now.
They should be making good hybrids and EVs that are priced well. But their EVs are horrible though.
lemonpoundcaker@reddit
You think there's enough demand for 5 billion dollars worth of one engine lol?
kstetter@reddit (OP)
yes
