Sheepskin Covers

Sheepskin Covers. Worth It for a 182?
My seats are still in decent shape, but they’re starting to look a little tired. I’ve been considering sheepskin covers as a way to clean things up without going all in on a full interior.
I’ve heard they can add a bit of comfort and help regulate temperature, staying cooler in the Texas heat and warmer in the winter.
Curious what others have experienced. Are they actually worth it?

182? Beautiful interior

Yessir. I love it. Thank you.

The 182 as a special place in my heart not the first plane I’ve ever flown but the first yolk I ever got to use I loved it

does sheepskin really make it cooler? my first thought is HOT

Yeah, I don't get that part. I flew with sheepskin covers for the first time last year when it was >90°, and it felt terrible and super gross. I way prefer the vinyl or leather ones in the summer

Coming from leather or vinyl seats it’s way better, it knocks down the sweat puddle a lot.

Decent shape? Those seats look immaculate and awesome in red. Sheepskin is awesome btw.

Good from far but far from good. Once you get up close, you see where tears are. Additionally, the padding has gotten smushed and my butt feels it.

I fly in winter, and like sheepskin then is nice. While I fly out of a hangar, many locations I fly to don't. I warm up the interior while I do my walk around, and prep, with a car interior warmer. But in summer, I remove it. You can do just your seat as well,, will look off, but if you are on a budget as all the money is now spent on fuel and maintenance.... you can do one seat at a time. Personally, I would do both. My 2 cents.

Very pretty airplane.

Thank you.

I hate when school airplanes come in and they're absolute pigpens.

This reminds me of a plane I did some time building in that my friends and I called “Velvet Elvis.” The fanciest clapped out 172 I’ve ever seen.
Sheepskin seats are great, but I feel like they’d kill the vibe of that cockpit.

My brother in law called it Velvet Elvis too. This one, however, is not clapped out. It’s got about a 120k panel so I’m trying to make it all work together.

I don't know, man? Add some fuzzy dice?

Hula-girl on the dash too.

So worth it. Cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, and more comfy to sit on. I also had reservations before I got mine but it’s the best 1k I’ve spent on the plane’s comfort.

Auf einer Skala von 1 bis 10, wie luxuriös willst du fliegen? Ja!

I’d love to ruin them in 2 months of sweaty summer flying lol
andrewclarkson@reddit
I had them in an Archer I used to own and I liked them, IDK if they cool anything but you don't get that hot seat and no breathing effect you get with vinyl or leather.
Final-Carpenter-1591@reddit
Have you not sat in any sheep skin? It's the best imo.

No, sir.
