Nearly 5 months since last payment , but in state where bank account can be levied what to do?

Throwaway here but trying to figure out what to do next:

Long story short I have around $180k in private salle Mae loans serviced by Navient from at least a decade ago. I had gone to school for grad school and more grad school so was generally in in school deferment and paid a few dollars here and there.

Towards end of grad school they decided to put loans in repayment , i was able to use up forbearance but then they pushed me into a rate reduction program after I got more work while still finishing up grad school. Come to find they had incorrect info in terms of options available to me and also realized I couldn’t afford even the reduced payments.

After they told me to ask friends for money and refused to work with me I stopped bothering back in December 2018. Last payment was same month.

All other debts are being managed fine (credit cards and federal loans), i consolidated any fed loans away from them as well. My credit dropped about 120 points earlier this year and one credit card cut my limit based on this drop.

In past month they have started harassing my references on these loans and even though I long ago changed my number with them and email they continue to call and email. They now leave messages warning that my file is under extensive review and if I don’t call by end of month they may “escalate further and that I will “miss very important deadlines.” I have no co-signers.

I live in a state that does not allow wage garnishment and SOL is 4 years. State also does not allow tax return garnishments on private loans nor revoking of any professional licenses. The state is also currently suing Navient for misleading borrowers on the same loan types from the same years as I have.

The loans do have (seal) next to sig but I believe in this state to be valid the terms of the seal purpose have to be clearly stated next to the seal which they are not.

State does allow for bank levys and liens but requires a successful judgement against debtor.

I haven’t sent them any request for debt verification or any cease and desist.

For my main bank’s part they fulfilled a request to block any attempts of debits or echecks from the lender since I stopped paying.

At this point what should I do? Has there ever been a successful case of a private student lender levying bank accounts?

I can’t afford a lawyer right now and even if I could they haven’t taken any action they just leave messages strongly recommending that I stop ignoring them. They also lie on the phone and messages telling me they spoke with me after last contact offering me payment plans (they did not).

In summary: - only judgement they can get is for bank levy or property lien in my state (and I own no house). - no co-signers - they keep leaving messages warning of “consequences” if I don’t call back but last time they refused to communicate only by mail.

Any feedback or tips recommended!
