I know you're quoting a movie but the 70s were recorded as the decade that most Americans said they were happy.

I feel this logic applies even more now.

• 90s were excellent, dot com boom led to many new jobs while housing prices still low
• 00s had 9/11, dot com bust, and the housing crisis
• 10s recovering from 08 crisis there was tech & small biz prosperity. if you were able to ride that wave you were setup for success
• 20s covid hit hard, unless you already had a cushy job or large nest egg the economy & job market isn't working in your favor, ultra maga movement divides
• 30s post-maga world, new administration cleans up the mess from the previous leading to another gradual era of prosperity
