So I was given a Big Horn Classic safe with a securam keypad. We moved it down some steps and into my basement. I went to put the code in and it didn't open. It just beeps a green light about every 3 seconds. I took the old battery out and put in a new Duracell 9V and still the same thing. Any idea what may be the issue?

Once you get it opened, consider replacing the electronic lock with a non-electronic version. No one regrets mechanical locks.

To be clear, mechanical locks can have issues too. Nothing is 100%. Had to replace my S&G lock due to combo-drift.

Yes agreed but with electronic locks, it is when, not if.

It's usually due to low voltage. Are you sure that's a fresh battery you put in? It might also be in a 5-10 minute lockdown mode for too many wrong attempts.

Get a brand new lithium 9v and try it before buying a new keypad

Also, as I learned recently - batteries are made in batches. Google latest batch date of battery and install it. It appears that there is some significant current draw to open the mechanism, and older versions may not provide it. Start with that and than call safe company. I know my Winchester support was fantastic

The keypad may need to be replaced. Electronic keypads have an unfortunate habit of dying.
