Flights to Columbus, Ohio 🛩️

My girlfriend and I are trying to find the cheapest possible flight from New Orleans LA, Gulfport MS, or Mobile AL to Columbus, Ohio.
We’re looking to leave Friday October 16th and return Sunday October 18th.
All the options we’ve seen are anywhere from $370 to $600 per person. Could anyone help us find cheaper flights, I’m not a seasoned flyer and am not sure where to find the best deal. Thank you!

Cheapest option seems to be Mobile via Atlanta. 323 USD each. Delta (book on their own website)

If you don’t mind driving a little further to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, you can catch the Allegiant flight. It’s Thurs-Sun.

I’ve had weirdly good luck checking nearby airports separately instead of searching all together. Sometimes Mobile or Gulfport ends up way cheaper if you book two one ways instead of a round trip. Also worth checking Cincinnati and driving the last stretch if Columbus stays expensive. I did that once on a food trip because the savings basically paid for the rental car and a couple of really good meals along the way. October weekends can spike hard because of football, too, so prices might calm down a bit midweek before jumping again.

I’ll have to check out that option. I didn’t even think of two one ways lol.

Cheapest is to fly to Louisville and rent a car to Columbus.
10/16: Breeze airlines: New Orleans - Louisville, $158
10/18: Allegiant airlines: Louisville - Gulf Shores, $134

Thank you for breaking everything down. I’ll definitely be using the car rental idea. 👍

Let’s make this ridiculously cheap. One of you starts working for an airline that flies into the airport. You both can fly standby and might end up paying only taxes. That’s literally how I’m headed there tomorrow, wife works for airlines A couple weeks ago took 10 flights over the 10 days off and total cost was around 250$ for both of us. It was only that high because of UK taxes

As someone who works for an airline, it’s genuinely, 100% worth it! Especially when using flight benefits to fly for concerts, like seeing TØP at the shoe!

Columbus is always super expensive to fly to from New Orleans, I have no idea why, I would look at flights to Cincinnati or Pittsburgh and either rent a car or take the bus there.
