Does anyone happen to know the story behind this plane? It's been parked in the private jet area at LAX for a few days. There is a small German flag towards the back of the plane.

It's a privately owned A330-300 corporate jet; owner is K5 Aviation. The aircraft has a VIP interior for 32 passengers:
https://www.k5-aviation.com/en/project/airbus-acj330-300-d-axeo-en-fleet/
toniabalone@reddit
That's a lot of windows for 32 passengers [says the person who has never been on a private jet, let alone one with a VIP interior].
SheriffMoney@reddit
The windows are left unblanked in any room that may be occupied, regardless of seat arrangement. The only time we would install blanks is some unoccupied or otherwise inaccessible areas where there’s no need for a window.
SummerInPhilly@reddit
IIRC usually they seal a few windows on these versions
WesternBlueRanger@reddit
Per the link, it's got ten cabin zones, with a master bedroom, guest suites, a lounge, a spacious dining room and a cinema room.
Whilst not this particular aircraft, there's this video of the interior of another ACJ330:

SheriffMoney@reddit
Hey, I personally built this plane! I personally had a hand with fabbing, fitting, and installing almost every part of its interior for 2 years.
gefahr@reddit
I'd rather have an AC-130J, personally.
cr0100@reddit
Wow, that AI bot reading the script sure is annoying. Fascinating interior, though!
thesuperunknown@reddit
They don’t change the number of windows or their placement based on the seat count or layout.
toniabalone@reddit
Well that's a logical answer, thank you!

Thank you!

Those things are wild. 10,000nm range:

Hermeran@reddit
you know I’m never not surprised by how different lives humans live
Like I can’t even comprehend how I (good job but big city so will never own a house lmao) live on the same place as a guy who casually owns a private jet like this??
throwingeverything99@reddit
Technically this plane wouldn't be owned by one person (I guess unless the charter company is owned by a single person), since it's a corporate jet. But your point still stands since I think there are a couple private/single owner A330/737 business jets.
Scorpian899@reddit
The charter is owned by a married couple. So functionally one person.
Idavid14@reddit
How rich do you have to grow up to make this feel necessary and valid?
Infamous_Ad_9115@reddit
I doubt that couple actually owns that plane. It’s probably leased to the charter company
Scorpian899@reddit
It's a weird mix. Some are leased. They own some, which they sell shares of. Others are managed.
LefsaMadMuppet@reddit
The one before this one was for the FIVE hotel chain, Dubai money.
Thecrazyredhead@reddit
I don't have enough money to look at this picture

Be real, its a...floating holographic globe 🤔
foxhelp@reddit
Lol, I thought you were joking at first but then looked at the page and they legit have a holographic globe shown in what seems to be an rendered image
Techhead7890@reddit
I see they've been playing XCOM...

A pool in turbulence, takeoff and landing is more fun! Just needs a slide.
finnknit@reddit
Having been in a pool on a cruise ship in rough seas, a pool in turbulence would be interesting.
zzzzaap@reddit
Down to the luggage space! Double decker, no storage.
putlermustdiehorribl@reddit
Be real. It's a wind tunnel. So you can fly while you fly.
liaisontosuccess@reddit
Back in the early 1970’s, Led Zeppelin’s customized Boeing 720, aka The Starship, had a “fireplace” in the lounge.
Snappy0@reddit
They also have an A359 ACJ that is good for 11,100nm.
ThisIsMyBigAccount@reddit
It literally says 8000nm for this jet and config. Where you get 10k?

belltrina@reddit
Why's there only one bedroom/sleeping area?
Icy_Huckleberry_8049@reddit
fewer passengers = less weight which allows them to carry more fuel to fly longer routes
Helpful_Equipment580@reddit
Why is there a fake holographic image suspended above the table.
They even put it in 2 shots.
DarthSontin@reddit
Feels like it should have a pool!

KiwieeiwiK@reddit
I'm assuming the cargo hold is all bedrooms? Would be cool to see what that's like. What a plane though, how the other 0.00001% lives huh

Daaaaamn that’s fuckin cool

The red is in range, assuming you start at the white dot...
_Hashtronaut_@reddit
That is wild.
pl0nk@reddit
Larger than my home and flies through the air
Lawdoc1@reddit
The fact that the plane on the home page is slightly off center in the picture is maddening.
If I had enough money to charter this (I certainly do not), this minor detail might be something that kept me from choosing this company.
As it is, my attention to detail will have to continue being satisfied by ensuring the screws in all my outlet and switch plates are properly aligned vertically.
Carry on.
CoastRegular@reddit
Goddammit. You just reminded me that I have to check on that this weekend. And have you ANY idea how many damned wall plates we're talking about in MY house? (That's why I'm going to convert everything to those 'decora' plates with a snap-on cover that conceals the screws.)
Both-Dingo69420@reddit
That thing must have cost multiple arms and legs.
Old_Lengthiness_250@reddit
No its not a Saudi jet.
WesternBlueRanger@reddit
Usually for such large VIP jets, the list price is just the start of the cost.
Last published list price for a new Airbus A330-300 was approximately $256.4 million to $264.2 million USD. Then you have the cost of cabin fitting on top of this because these aren't bog standard airline interiors, and you aren't buying them in bulk.
Both-Dingo69420@reddit
And then you fly it for 30 seconds and that cost doubles.
Icy_Consideration409@reddit
Only if you jump in front of an engine.
KirkieSB@reddit
It is my first time that I read about a VVIP interior. LOL
baronmunchausen2000@reddit

Pretty sure that's the plane the Germans used to bomb Pearl Harbor

it was the Russians that bombed Pearl Habor

Arrived from Paris. Go and figure out what group of very wealthy French people are in LA right now.
gannekekhet@reddit
Oh, that checks out. A quick search and found: "Bernard Arnault, Delphine Arnault, and other LVHM leadership in Los Angeles for the Dior Cruise 2027 show being held on May 13-14, 2026"
Easy-Programmer-2667@reddit
Pas étonnant. Pour tous les défilés Dior hors Paris, la fille de BA voyage soit avec lui, soit avec Xavier Niel, j'imagine pour profiter de leurs avions privé. Cette famille n'a jamais mis un pied dans un vol commercial.

A330 - D-AXEO
Its an ACJ configuration ised for charters. Demand for ACJ330s isnt massive, so it sits for a few days at a time
moles-on-parade@reddit
I initially read this as AC-130J and my brain took half a second to realize that no, that's a very different flying thing
jello_sweaters@reddit
An AC-330J would be something all right.
Neat_Shallot_606@reddit
I think you just came up with a great new contraction "ised" for "is used". I think we need to promote it. I read it wrong at first but now I am very into it.
jello_sweaters@reddit
Figured y’all’dve got to this earlier.

From today. A little action going on.
The plane behind it had an American flag on the tail. Wondering what the story is there.
WildwestPstyle@reddit
K5 Aviation. Luxury charter. I used to do maintenance on their A319s a long while back. Interior had white leather lazyboys with a full bed and standup shower in the back. Only time I’ve ever had to work in socks lmao.
BlueberryEmpty1640@reddit
That’s Hans Gruber’s jet, but he had a little fall and hasn’t been back to LAX for a while.
syfari@reddit
Usually used to haul around important/extremely wealthy people and their entourage. Unless you’re moving a large group or trying to make a splash it makes more sense to use a g6 or global express.
TeMuBeBalalaika@reddit
Its owned and operated by K5 Aviation out of Munich.

LifeMycologist897@reddit
Do you know if that embraer jet on the right was a Praetor 500 or 600?
Adviderisj@reddit
No way to tell (at least with my knowledge) without seeing the tail. The key distinction is one more window (from the exterior, interior is one more row of seats). From the Pic, it could be either
SupersetXYZ@reddit
Here's a video of the delivery to K5 with the following description:
