Next Level Armament does this with the Varmit 22 but has a alloy blast chamber and removable printed baffles you can send back for replacements.
FTW-Arms@reddit
To give a bit of background about who we are and what this is...
The FTN line of 3d printed suppressors changed what people thought was possible with 3d printed suppressors. Our goal is to help make suppressors common use by bringing the technology in the FTN line to consumers who aren't interested in printing their own suppressors.
We're not just another company printing the same open source FTN.5 files you can go download off the internet. We work directly with the FTN team to commercialize the FTN concept with durability, compliance, and affordability in mind. While this is still primarily a 3d printed suppressor, our designs also incorporate aluminum reinforcements in the blast chamber, and much thicker walls than the standard FTN suppressors offer.
Our goal is to make the concept of an affordable suppressor a reality for more shooters. Our price is $99, and doesn't have to be on sale to be that price.
Is it a consumable gun part? Absolutely. And we know this is a new concept for suppressors. But we're confident in the value it will provide for its low cost, and that it can introduce many shooters to the joys of shooting suppressed who couldn't afford to do so previously.
Our suppressors are printed in PPA-CF, the blast chamber is coated with high temp resistant ceramic coatings, and annealed, a combination that offers excellent heat resistance and durability. We've stress tested these shooting over 1000 rounds in a single session, and measured them with thermal cameras, showing they are not even getting hot enough that you cant grab it with your hand afterwards.
Wafflestarship@reddit
Any plans to do other calibers?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Yes. We're already testing 9mm PCC and booster versions of 9mm. Will keep expanding from there.
clickersforeal@reddit
What’s the length on this bad boy ? Might snag one
FTW-Arms@reddit
6.5 inches
Mr_Bojangles01@reddit
Wow! That’s way bigger than average!!!
No_Client7123@reddit
That's what she said!!!
Sorry, had to do it.
MonarchCore@reddit
Im really curious how larger calibers will fare. Im not engineer but I feel like 22lr only works since it's got so little heat buildup
FTW-Arms@reddit
22 certainly works really well with polymers. 9mm works very well as well. The ftn project as a whole has already done a lot of testing with 300blk and 556, and we hope to bring as much of that as is feasible to market
Spare-Bodybuilder-68@reddit
How much testing has been done with shorter barrel lengths? 22LR or otherwise.
Also, since I don't see it explicitly mentioned, I presume this is not rated for 22 mag?
FTW-Arms@reddit
It should survive 22 mag, but we haven't tested it, it's not rated for it and it will void the warranty.
Our test platforms have been: Walther P22 (shortest barrel, over 500 rds so far, 300 in one session. This got it the hottest but internally still looks great with the bore scope) Ruger MkIV, because every 22 suppressor should be tested on a Mk4 DeAR22 9" SBR (Roughly 1500rds, over 1000 in one session, can never even got hot. Video of this including thermal footage and bore scope on our X) Savage MkII FV-SR... To see just how quiet it can be
With that said this is all based off the FTN5 platform, which has had far more cumulative testing than we will ever be able to do on our specific variant. The geometry is the same, were just reinforced and with thicker walls.
Fun_truckk@reddit
How could one of these be cleaned/serviced? Are you willing to share what printers and brand filament you’re manufacturing with?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Ultrasonic with aluminum safe cleaners
QIDI Q2, with SirayaTech PPA-CF
SteedOfTheDeid@reddit
What made you go with aluminum for the reinforcement instead of steel?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Aluminum is lighter, and has better thermal characteristics for this application.
Our aluminum blast chamber reinforcement is also where our serial number is placed. This was a design decision we made to ensure maximum compliance with atf guidelines on engravings
I'd also like to call out that the designs this can is based on had no reinforcements and survived fine. This is the commercial evolution of the FTN lineup
Fun_truckk@reddit
Nice I’ve been heavily researching doing this myself (just form 1 no SOT) and the q2 using siraya ppa CF core are the solutions I landed on. Are you folks feeding filament off a spool holder or using the qidi box?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Feeding from sunlu e2 dryer
Fun_truckk@reddit
I appreciate you folks being open about your process, the transparency is aligned with the FTN ethos
TheBlackComet@reddit
I really appreciate how open you are with what these suppressors are. There are way too many new manufacturers selling low end cans that they say are jUsT aS gUd as the big boys. Is a CAT SR better? Sure, but it is 6x as expensive. I like where this sits at. While it isn't something I would buy(mainly because I have access to a full CNC shop), I can definitely see the appeal. Maybe one day we won't need a stamp.
fathertitojones@reddit
A lot of people have aversion to polymers because they think they’ll melt but they’re actual great thermal insulators. Curious to see how this develops over time. If we can get rid of the NFA I’ll give the 9mm can a go.
FTW-Arms@reddit
The HDT of PPA-CF we're printing with is 190C when annealed. I can't even get the thing hot enough I cant grab it (not touch, but wrap my hand all the way around it tightly) with normal use. I'm sure a TX22 with an FRT and enough mags could seriously melt most polymer suppressors... but for your average shooter in their backyard or range, heat shouldn't be an issue with these. As you mentioned, nylon is a terrible conductor of heat, so these don't really get hot like a traditional metal can does.
fathertitojones@reddit
Maybe it’s a little bit out of your purview currently, but do you think that 3-D metal printing technology will be good/cheap enough in a short time that it will substantially reduced costs across the market?
FTW-Arms@reddit
We can only hope. The dream of desktop metal printing has been just a dream for many years. Let's hope it can become a reality in the next few
quatre03@reddit
Sn#0069 is taken. 😢
It doesn't say anything about no FRTs. 😊
FTW-Arms@reddit
It will hold up to FRTs fine but it will wear fast and void the warranty :(
mynewhoustonaccount@reddit
Just ordered one for the lols.
Can we dip them in something like breakfree suppressor cleaner to extend longevity, or is it moreso about the material breaking down after X amount of rounds?
FTW-Arms@reddit
I need to test break free specifically, but aluminum safe ph neutral cleaners should be fine to soak it in..ppa is very chemical resistant, the bigger concern is not dissolving the aluminum
mynewhoustonaccount@reddit
Yeah I've dunked my Jesse's girl aluminum 22 suppressor in breakfree for ~24hrs with no ill effects.
FTW-Arms@reddit
Feel free to have them send it over whenever they are ready. Rather have it early than be waiting on it when we are ready to ship
quatre03@reddit
Gay
redacted_robot@reddit
Sir, I'm seeing a lot of throat erosion. Do you have anything you want to tell us?
quatre03@reddit
I wanna go fast.
Cabooseisjake@reddit
Rifle supressors should be priced like this. Excuses are getting slim
accounts_baleeted@reddit
I bet sales figures make a very good argument for pricing them as high as possible.
They know you aren't buying a can until you're already $2-3k into your setup, so what's another $500-800 more?
Same thing with nods and aiming devices. If you drop 2-3k on your rifle, more on a can, 1k on a helmet and mount, whats another couple $k for nods and lasers?
GiveMeSumChonChon@reddit
I feel the same about pistol lights. I get brands like stream light are more compatible with holsters. But is it really 150$ better than a 30$ light on Amazon?
Plane-Enthusiasm5252@reddit
If you do some digging on Temu you can find the streamlights for \~$35, even registerable on their site.
rdmrdtusr69@reddit
I had a counterfeit streamlight, it caught fire. I didn't know it was a fake until I sent it in. They are not the same as the real streamlight, no matter much they look like it. You know, like a counterfeit product.
clicktoseemyfetishes@reddit
If this was the case someone would be making money flipping them
Cabooseisjake@reddit
Like the amazon "bike handles"
dorritos29@reddit
DM me these clandestine Temu ksitings please 🤣

WooHoo2You@reddit
So I should buy a $2000 cup holder for my $50,000 car?
internetenjoyer69420@reddit
Could a suppressor manufacturer just get china to pump out a bunch of 80% cans and then finish them stateside and sell for cheap as possible? I guess I'm curious what is the bottom of the barrel for getting basic cans to market.
WooHoo2You@reddit
If all regulations were dropped? $20-30 for shitty (but functional) can. I remember when those ship from china solvent traps used to be all over eBay. Those were ready to go at $15-20 all day long.
accounts_baleeted@reddit
No, but you wouldn't buy the cheapest 'fancy' looking wheels if you wanted to upgrade your wheels... or a fat turbo from temu.
Changing floor mats is analogous to changing a dust cover.
Also ai tools can do 90% of the logistics and bookkeeping if the business are not run by fudds, which is a bit of an ask in the gun community.
WooHoo2You@reddit
Your point was if you spent X on your gun, you need to spend Y (as a ratio) on your suppressor. But now we are splitting hairs on an analogy? And it sounded like you were supporting higher prices but now saying that AI makes most of those reasons obsolete? Heck, even the milling, CNC, etc can be handled by automation. Temu (or their suppliers could likely mass produce suppressors better than your average small to medium can company. Once they get the settings right on the tooling it is just an assembly line process at that point.
IMO, a suppressor is closer to a floor mat than a dust cover in our now shared analogy. I could change a floor mat or suppressor in 30 seconds flat with my eyes, literally closed. A dusk cover actually requires a tiny bit of knowledge and tools. So the dust cover should cost $500-800.
But you are right, most 2A business are run by pure fudds, from still using fax to websites that look like they were built on GeoCities...LOL. And god forbid you ask a LGS to get a non-stick price for you. Now they are under the counting looking for a printed catalog from their rep so 😉
zynemisis@reddit
Jokes on you. My $350 Rex (excluding the FFL/g-ment robbery) is on a $350 Ruger Ranch 300bo. When it's not there, it's on a BCA AR-15. Balling on a budget.
If they started selling more sub $200 cans, I'd (and I'm sure others) would be more prone to have dedicated cans. Hell, even if they were all direct thread only, I'd still be game. Just need Bud's to start selling them. A lot cheaper transfers and store to store shipping free.
r870@reddit
I yearn for a world where cans are cheap enough I can just rocksett one on each gun and never have to worry about them backing off
Mightknowitall@reddit
No need to call me out like that lol.
yami76@reddit
It’s plastic, entirely it looks like. It says it has a “reinforced blast chamber and internal ribbing” whatever that means…
GreenTree3@reddit
Based on the CAD pics in the link it looks like they quite literally are adding extra polymer material in a spiral pattern (almost looks like screw threads)
FTW-Arms@reddit
https://ftw-arms.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/20260514_130011.jpg
This should give a better view of what the reinforced chamber looks like. The cylinder is retained 3 different ways...once it goes in it doesn't ever come back out
RegardedDipshit@reddit
Do you have any plans on releasing the stls for this version publicly?
FTW-Arms@reddit
They are based on the ftn5, which is better suited for personal use. The differences weve made help it adapt to a wider market who isnt as interested in 3d printing themselves
Complex-Ad237@reddit
It’s for her pleasure
FTW-Arms@reddit
We have an aluminum cylinder that surrounds the blast chamber adding an extra layer of reinforcement over a fully printed design. That cylinder also contains the serial number, rather than just a washer glued to the end. Outside of that, and the threads, yes it is fully polymer. There is a clear picture showing the internals on X if you want to see what the ribbing looks like.
gunplumber700@reddit
This is one of the times I think supply and demand fits the market well. Without the 200 dollar beaurocracy tax and short wait times demand has surged while supply hasn’t.
Excessive government paperwork also doesn’t help.
I 100% agree though, they’re expensive for no real reason. Don’t get me wrong there’s a difference between something made as cheap as possible for 100 dollars versus the quality of 1,000 dollar suppressor, but it would be nice to see more “entry level” suppressors.
I also somewhat agree with accounts belateds point about, what’s the extra couple hundred on top of a couple thousand, but there are a lot of cheap 3-400 dollar hunting guns out there that would greatly benefit from some suppression versus no suppression.
Reverend0352@reddit
Just need an FFL that doesn’t charge so much for receiving it in DFW.
_NedPepper_@reddit
How quickly did the FTW069 serial get snatched up? 😂
FTW-Arms@reddit
Unsurprisingly #1 was most sought after. #69 was gone within 2 hours of launch
MonarchCore@reddit
Actual question. How would you clean it. Are all the popular solvents good on that material?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Cleaning should be performed using an ultrasonic cleaner with a pH-neutral solution.
The safe options would be:
Simple Green Aircraft & Precision Cleaner Diluted dish detergent Jewelry ultrasonic cleaning solutions Always confirm the solution is safe for aluminum.
JakeAdventureHunter@reddit
I’m so glad there’s extremely affordable options popping up for the 22 because I have a cgs hydra but it’s getting old bouncing it around every time I want to shoot suppressed and I’d love to have something live on my bolt guns.. now I just need an ffl that doesn’t charge me a fourtune to hold it.
ZealousidealCrow811@reddit
That’s the killer…
morbidbattlecry@reddit
Can't wait to have piles of unusable nfa items just sitting around my house
Jason1435@reddit
Shipping and transfer fee together costs more than the suppressor lol

$20 shipping
FTW-Arms@reddit
$20 is a standard rate for NFA items as they have to be shipped fast with signature required.
RebirthResurgence@reddit
My b&t just shipped ups ground from shooterschoice ☠️😭
Alivaronas@reddit
And a $100+ NFA transfer fee at shops near me.
Away-Fun-9311@reddit
Your shops suck.
Squeeze_Toy2004@reddit
Any kind of cleaning needed? Or just shoot until it stops being quiet and get a new one?
I kinda want one to put on my chassis-bound TX22 SBR.
FTW-Arms@reddit
Cleaning should be performed using an ultrasonic cleaner with a pH-neutral solution.

Simple Green Aircraft & Precision Cleaner Diluted dish detergent Jewelry ultrasonic cleaning solutions Always confirm the solution is safe for aluminum.
theDudeUh@reddit
Pointless S/N FTW069 already sold.
squeeshka@reddit
Looks like an FTN with the exterior of the Pill Popper.
FTW-Arms@reddit
Its internals were made by the FTN-Team, largely based on FTN-5.... and the pill popper is beautiful, and was certainly an inspiration for this particular cosmetic pattern. We will have other patterns available after the founders edition.
Huge-Two-3358@reddit
$99 warrior systems vs this?
ZN4STY@reddit
I bought two of the warrior systems. It’s solid and at the price point if you shoot it out just get another one. Also it’s very light and points really well on a 22 pistol or rifle.
FTW-Arms@reddit
We haven't done a side by side comparison, but ours doesn't have to be on sale for that price point. Our large internal volume and modern baffle design should make it very quiet comparatively.
redditagainsam@reddit
One is metal and one is polymer
v8_slayer@reddit
Estimated lifespan?
FTW-Arms@reddit
Lifespan will vary depending on how you use it. Through a bolt action, it should last essentially forever. Through a normal semi auto rifle, many many thousands of rounds. Pistols and short barrels will accelerate wear, but we still expect many thousands of rounds when shot within normal conditions. It will hold up to FTR use, but I wouldn't expect it to last many years if used like that.
accounts_baleeted@reddit
3d printing making k baffles relevant again, lol.
