Funny to think how many options there are now, but in the 80s…

My other favorites were the vitamin C that were round orange chewable.
Scherzkeks@reddit
Bonemeal and earwig honey
Pearl-Internal81@reddit
Anyone else immediately have the jingle start going through their head when you saw those things?
Mike__O@reddit
Tums needs to know their target market and start selling Flintstones shaped antacids
Sirtriplenipple@reddit
Hahaha! And flintstones Viagra…
Pearl-Internal81@reddit
Anyone else immediately have the jingle start going through their head when you saw those things?

They'll make your bed rock
elektrik_noise@reddit
Flinstones Lipitor.
And Flinstones Prozac/Lamictal depending on how some others of us are doing these days lol.
King_of_Lunch223@reddit
Yabba dabba ding-dong!
SurviveDaddy@reddit
I can still remember exactly what these things taste like.
Hossflex@reddit
My mouth watered up at the thought
Pearl-Internal81@reddit
Honestly? Same here, lol.
Ok_Neighborhood2032@reddit
I just ate one an hour ago. You can still take these. You are a grown up. You have the power!
It's even better when you are an adult.
MyNameCannotBeSpoken@reddit
Can I now eat the whole bottle?
TheMeticulousNinja@reddit
Same. They were delicious
she-dont-use-jellyyy@reddit
They still exist and they're exactly the same
Secret_Assistant_232@reddit
So delicious!!!!! When I was a young adult I popped a handful and got real sick. Oh yeah, too much iron dipshit. Didn’t die. Was worth it.
TamarindSweets@reddit
Fucking horrible
GarminTamzarian@reddit
People will shit on you for saying it, but you're completely right. Those things were nasty.
TamarindSweets@reddit
Its funny af to get downvoted for expressing the same exact sentiment of OP, the person they reposted, and most people in the comments. The people in the minority just latched on lol.
Zed64K@reddit
I quite liked the taste. 🤷
smcivor1982@reddit
I loved them! I would hoard them in my room and then eat a bunch at a time (I was little). My parents never knew.
Sanguine-Penguin711@reddit
My cousin and I pocketed about 15 or 20 each and walked around munching them like candy until we got busted.
TamarindSweets@reddit
Did the ones you have taste like candy chalk with a drop of sugarless kool-aid? Bc it may have been a different version.
semidivineone@reddit
Me too especially the red ones
Foxtrot_Supatwat@reddit
I hated them so much, I tried hiding one up my nose one time and it got stuck.
Wasn't a very bright kid. Also pushed a golf tee cleanly thru my eardrum one time, and nearly went deaf in that ear..
BloggerCurious@reddit
Oh hey, I get a piece of candy at the end of my meal. Thanks mom
wheatgivesmeshits@reddit
You can still buy them, I give them to my kids. I think the formulation has changed, but it's pretty close.
Practical-Train-9595@reddit
They are not as good as I remember.
moogoothegreat@reddit
So sour they made my jaw cramp
Rdubya291@reddit
That's how you knew they were working!
Oh, and the added citric acid...
bakedinsandiego@reddit
My sister used to chuck them under the table instead of eating them 😂
DVRCD@reddit
Every time I smell iron, I get a flashback of these things.
HumanContract@reddit
Oo me, too. Especially when I got the orange one stuck in my tooth crevice.
heresperkins@reddit
Wilma flavor was were the rocks turned to stones
johnonymous1973@reddit
Ten million strong and growing.
Ashlynne42@reddit
My father had a friend named Bubba that ate these like candy.
Bubba. . .Bubba wasn't quite right.
trainwreckhappening@reddit
And we all begged for them. My family wasn't "rich enough" to afford those so I just was defficient.
Federal-Zebra7702@reddit (OP)
You must be falling apart now 🤣
screamingcatfish@reddit
I still remember getting sick one morning as I was being dropped off at daycare. Puked on the poor daycare lady’s doormat and it tasted like Flintstone vitamin.
Sensitive_Pianist777@reddit
They for rid of the "car" vitamin. That one was my favorite.
WatersEdge50@reddit
I one time ate almost a whole bottle, and my pee turned neon green
ngless13@reddit
A friend of mine did eat the whole bottle. When his mom found out, he blamed it on his brother who was taken to the ER and had his stomach pumped. He laughs every time I bring it up
BuffaloRedshark@reddit
modern "one a day" adult vitamins do that. taking just one doesn't quite get it to neon but there is definitely a noticeable color change
CheetahOfDeath@reddit
I always went for the car. Would have ‘races’ before eating them.
nightblue888@reddit
They tasted like pennies, berries, soap! 😝.
barefootincozumel@reddit
I can taste this photo
bradfo83@reddit
Still a thing. I have these for my kids 😂
8last@reddit
2nded. Flintstones kids still exist in 2026
team_lloyd@reddit
I used to beg for these like a full blown addict
drinkslinger1974@reddit
10 million stroooooooooonnnngggg
drfinale@reddit
My favorite was the one that was shaped like the car. I would always drive it around the table a bit before eating it
FreneticZen@reddit
Motherfuckers don’t play.
59apache01@reddit
Tried those once and they made me really nauseous.
Ronthelodger@reddit
I weirdly liked the taste
Truth_Seeker963@reddit
Because they don’t taste like what is posted. That kid probably couldn’t breathe through his nose.
mmm_unprocessed_fish@reddit
Same.
BigBabyWhale@reddit
Tasted amazing!
pearmaster@reddit
These (and generic equivalents) are some of the only multi-vitamins out there with iron, which is particular important for several demographics. My pediatrician recommends them.
tillyspeed81@reddit
We give these at our hospital
Aiku1337@reddit
I make my kids eat this. They hate it. I thought they were fine as a kid and they’re still fine as an adult.
Thereminz@reddit
what's kinda odd is that the flintstones were not even current when we were kids, they only showed reruns from the 60s... and they didn't start making the vitamins until after the end of the series, it would be like trying to make vitamins from some shit in the early 2000s
WaterAirSoil@reddit
Loved these…
One day when I was like 12 I saw something on TV about the benefits of vitamins. So I thought to myself “I haven’t taken a vitamin in years. I’m gonna start again. Let me get one now”…
I found out that day that not all vitamins are chewable. Good life lesson for me.
TIRACS@reddit
Boy was my mom mad when she found my stash of not taken vitamins. “EVERY ONE OF THESE IS A LIE!!!”
Cameront9@reddit
They still make them. When I give them to my kids I sneak one occasionally. Taste great.
ildarathedruid@reddit
I still take these, the ones with iron. The blood bank I donate to recommended it, they're the only thing I've tried that has actually kept my hemoglobin up.
n10w4@reddit
They still sell em and, unlike the gummies have iron, so better for the kiddos.
Sufficient_Turn_9209@reddit
Good to know! I take prescription strength ferrous sulfate and still give around 11.5. I don't remember what it was when I started taking it but it was so low my doctor sent me for a blood transfusion. I wanna say 6.something but that sounds crazy so I feel like I'm remembering wrong.
mmm_unprocessed_fish@reddit
Yes! I kept getting rejected from donating blood, and the phlebotomist dropped that little tip on me. It’s been several years, and I’ve been good ever since.
balding_git@reddit
totally off topic but every time i get blood drawn i want to make a joke like “ok, phlebotomize me” but i figure they probably hear that one a lot
Sufficient_Turn_9209@reddit
Cause don't lie. Most of you know what chalk, aquarium gravel, and Kool Aid tastes like.
bikeonychus@reddit
They still make this kind! They are the only kids vitamin i can find in Canada that has iron in it, so I get them for my daughter.
mikegarb0126@reddit
10 million strong.....
Silentlaughter84@reddit
And we still ate them because we 10 miilion strong...... and growing.
Cryptic1911@reddit
It was the 80's. You had to take them with garden hose water to mask the taste
No-Banana247@reddit
I can taste this picture, and I like it 🫣
Violet_Walls@reddit
Does anyone remember the Looney Tunes ones as well? I thought I’d was a Mandela effect for a second but I looked it up and they were definitely real and were around in the 80s/90s!
Attic-Music@reddit
The Sesame Street ones were better
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
did they do anything?
GreenZebra23@reddit
I mean, probably. You know what the food was like back then. The only foods that had any micronutrients in them were cooked so poorly our parents couldn't get us to eat them
PackageNorth8984@reddit
I used to dislike so many veggies until I tried they roasted with oil and seasoned.
mmm_unprocessed_fish@reddit
Ha! I thought I only liked a couple vegetables and not much meat as a kid. Turns out, shit tastes better when you cook it properly and use spices.
Mike__O@reddit
I think swimming in Lake Erie in the 80s did more for me than these vitamins ever did
actionerror@reddit
And actually playing with/in dirt
SpinsterSyl@reddit
And drinking from the hose!!!
someguyfromsk@reddit
How many plagues and world-ending events have we survived?
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
dont jinx it!
Fuckin_Hipster@reddit
I'm not dead.
fullthrottletomboy@reddit
Pruple and orange all day.
Popular-Ad1537@reddit
mom "take a vitamin. only 1"
me "ok mom" proceeds to eat about 6 or 8 flintstone vitamins
every day
Popular-Ad1537@reddit
that and the ludens cherry throat lozenges. would get my grandma to give me like i was eating candy haha
jonathantg35@reddit
10,000,000 strong and growing…
ZeldaHylia@reddit
Me and my sisters ate an entire bottle like it was candy so our mom didn’t buy them anymore 😭
walter_grimsley@reddit
I laugh now because no kid in the target demo for these things today has the slightest idea who these characters are or where they came from.
TheMeticulousNinja@reddit
I loved those. I wanted to eat them like candy but was told not to
Fast_Soil1376@reddit
I just popped two this morning!
And I gifted a bottle to a friend a few weeks ago as a silly little gift.
RunAwayBeerTruk@reddit
Memories of fighting with my sister over color and character and which one was better, lol. They all tasted like chalk.
mmm_unprocessed_fish@reddit
I used to give my sister orange on purpose and she would lose her shit.
RunAwayBeerTruk@reddit
It was the worst.
SpaceAdventures3D@reddit
I take these. Purple is my favorite.
sleigh_all_day@reddit
My mom wouldn’t buy these for us. I was convinced she didn’t care about our health.
_TalkingIsHard_@reddit
Mine either. Too expensive, apparently.
blacktrufflesheep@reddit
My mom refused to buy them and instead had us take Shaklee vitamins. They all came in a boring brown bottle, very appropriate for the 80s. And they all smelled funny.
mmm_unprocessed_fish@reddit
Oh, wow. I took a generic Flintstone’s chewable (circus animals) and a Shaklee chewable vitamin C every day. I was rarely sick.
MmmSteaky@reddit
They legit tasted like when you burp and throw up in your mouth a little. Not saying they tasted bad—just that they tasted like, you know, vomit. (My kids eat them pulverized in milk because they don’t like the taste. I’ve tried them, and there’s no discernible difference from when I was a kid.)
Balthierlives@reddit
Flinstones chewable morphine!
Ersh777@reddit
I can taste this picture.
And remember the time I OD'd on these.
camio101@reddit
Hissy fit intensifies
hiro111@reddit
When I was about four, I stole these from the kitchen cabinet and ate an entire bottle of them. This resulted in a trip to the ER and induced vomiting. Kids are dumb.
240_dollarsofpudding@reddit
My kid takes one every day! He loves the red ones.
stuntycunty@reddit
And we are strong, and groooooowing
GirdleOfDoom@reddit
We're millions strong!
Fast-Damage2298@reddit
And growing
littlemsshiny@reddit
I sang that as I’m sure most others did.
xxMarcWithaCxx@reddit
My kid’s pediatrician recommended these still. I sing the song pretty much every time I give him one.
FearlessFixxer@reddit
Perfect description of the flavor. I can taste it right now just based on reading the title...lol
bascule@reddit
All I can think of is Bart asking for Flintstones Chewable Morphine
foreskinboots@reddit
They still make these. I’ve got a bottle in my kitchen right now.
taleofbenji@reddit
They were so delicious I can't believe I didn't OD
lazypenguin86@reddit
And if you ate a fourth of a bottle drunkenly you get to pee neon for a few days and if you do it under black light you look like you have radioactive waste piss
ElleAnn42@reddit
They are still the best option. Seriously... most of the gummies don't have iron in them and the chewables that do have iron are typically more expensive than Flintstones vitamins.
HighSeasArchivist@reddit
I still take two every morning, because no one can tell me I can't.
lemseattle@reddit
They did NOT taste good. I don’t know why we enjoyed eating those things so much. I still remember the commercial jingle too…. “Ten million stroooong, and growwinnnng!!”
neuro_space_explorer@reddit
Man I would eat these like candy if I could.
Teto_the_foxsquirrel@reddit
My mom had to start checking under my pillow because I would try to sneak them to snack on at night.
Slow-Profession-6310@reddit
I always enjoyed staring into the void of Fred's cold, dead eyes
King_of_Lunch223@reddit
They tasted like the nectar of the gods. Watch your mouth...
Ohboycats@reddit
WTF did Flintstones vitamins ever do to this person? These were awesome. Haven’t they ever eaten a Sweet Tart??
tavikravenfrost@reddit
I liked the grape ones.
secret_rye@reddit
The vitamin C ones were great! As soon as you tried to add calcium it tasted like sidewalk chalk
makeshift101@reddit
My older twin sisters and I ate a whole bottle of these when we were young.
We spent the entire day in the hospital getting our stomachs pumped with charcoal. Good times
No_Contribution81@reddit
I can taste this picture.
BlackieDad@reddit
My mother had to take me to the doctor because I ate an entire bottle of these and turned orange
MrsBridgerton@reddit
Used to love the red and purple ones.
switheld@reddit
my mom insisted we take one of these a day. along with drinking whole glasses of whole milk for breakfast and dinner.
WakeyWakeeWakie@reddit
When we moved out of an apartment, my mom found a bunch of these I hid under the sofa and in the cushions 🤣
checkonit2@reddit
Great description too
UnhappyToNiceToSay@reddit
I still get them? And one of my kids only likes these, not gummy vitamins.
CategoryExact3327@reddit
I liked these more than sweetarts
Appropriate-Food1757@reddit
You can still do Jagerbombs. Tastes the same
gerardkimblefarthing@reddit
The children today are soft, because their vitamins are gummies. We are iron because of the Flintstones. The bottle may say chewable, which was laughable. No one had the dental work for that.
ConnectKale@reddit
When I was pregnant my GYN was like if the regular vitamins are too much take flinstones.
zSmileyDudez@reddit
The orange ones were my jam as a kid. Still can taste them to this day.
Sea_Chocolate8299@reddit
You know what I want, ok, I don't know I got some time to think watching like.Iwho thought those things taste like chalk
actionerror@reddit
Man if they had gummy vitamins back than
Broad_Tie9383@reddit
Still the best option. The gummy ones won't have enough minerals. My kids like them.
