86 chevy sprint base model

Got some questions.
I drove 20 miles to get a free chevy sprint been sitting for 20 years.
Second I got there I yanked it out of the spot it was in, aired up the tires, tried to start, it turned over so that rules out seized engine.
We get to the house with it unload it off the dolly, and we start messing with it, first thing we did was get a new battery, new fuel filter, fuel additive, oil change, Spark plugs and coolant flush. (a bit of starter fluid).

Same thing happened. turned over and engine tried starting still no full start.

So we had came to the conclusion it’s the fuel pump.
Wrong we took the fuel pump off blew in all three spouts and then I put it back on and the fuel pump started working. Well it’s broke now some how no clue why so I’m glad I had already ordered a new one.

So we just yanked off the fuel pump again and came to the conclusion that it’s the fuel pump and then the carburetor.

I guess the only question is should I just buy a new carb or do I just do a rebuild kit for the carb.

What things have yall replaced on these engines to get them atleast started again. just incase yall dont know

3 cylinder 1 liter suzuki motor.
