Brought the PRNDL indicator and reverse lights online.

Working on making the vehicle street legal.
It's an Arduino microcontroller with a potentiometer reporting shifter position. When the shifter is in R position, it also triggers a Mosfet relay that turns on and off the reverse lights as needed.
The display is an I2C 1 inch screen amplified with a lens and packaged in a 3D printed housing. It gives a unique look that I feel adds to the cyberpunk aesthetic.

Would you mind sharing more info on the potentiometer setup? What style, how it’s mounted, etc?
I have a b&m shifter that I’d really like to add an indicator.
Grouchy-Simple-949@reddit
Why it’s a automatic?
p0cale@reddit
I think you need also a Split-Flap Display somewhere in the dash
SmkAslt@reddit
You're unhinged in the literal best way. I love this.

Is..is..that a crt?
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
Yup. Bentley CRT used to display speedometer data.
Might add rpm if it feels right.

fantastically british attempts at modernity
IRingTwyce@reddit
Is there any way to assign different layouts and different gauge readouts to different channels on the TV?
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
Huh. Interesting idea. I see no reason why not. I'm not sure how you would. Maybe dedicated hardware for the data and then that reports to different RF frequencies?
It might be a lot easier to cycle through presets on the hardware that's exporting to the RF modulator.
IRingTwyce@reddit
Easier, most likely. As satisfying as Click! Click! Clicking! through the channels? Highly doubtful.
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
With that said, you could use a click position potentiometer, or a rotary encoder that replaces the stock click dial. Similar feel, easier coding.
justin251@reddit
You should cross post to the crt subreddit. We love that shit.
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
I should. Someone recommended cassette futurism as well.

Crazy idea to amplify the OLED screen with a lens but I love it!

Shift selector gauge details? That looks incredible with the CRT

Thanks!

No one? Okay ill bite.
Whats up with the rear pushrod suspension on a 3000gt? Where can I go to learn more about this build.
Looks sick man! Keep up the good work!
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
The pushrod suspension was simply a fun challenge to design. I've also made it very adaptable to aftermarket coilovers.
It's managing a Ford 9in solid axle underneath.
I don't really post anywhere else. Just this community mainly.
RiskyBiscuit6@reddit
I just watched your walk around video... there was not a single moment in that where I was able to anticipate what was comming next. Rad dude, keep it up! Thats real Hot Rodding!
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
Thanks! Gotta keep em guessing!
I invent as a hobby, hence the cacophony of random challenges in this build.
-Ignorant_Slut-@reddit
Absolutely loving this! What’s the suspension in the back for?
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
If you mean how it works?
The rear has a solid axle which won't work in my case for coilovers. I also wanted extreme adaptability for different coil and shock products. So, I designed a bell crank, inboard suspension. Two thick rods push up and the bell crank redirects the force backwards into the coils.
If you mean the use case, than purely for a fun engineering challenge. I've only really seen my setup on off road vehicles and showy vehicles.
-Ignorant_Slut-@reddit
Are you saying the frame has hinges and suspension?
Vengeful-Wraith@reddit (OP)
Sorta? It's a triangulated 4 link underneath.
