A rare glimpse of a group elusive Beaked whales

I’ve only seen Baird’s Beaked whales twice off the front side San Clemente Island. They’re always elusive and hard to get a good look at.

Apparently, these guys can dive up to 3km deep underwater (about 10,000 feet)

Would explain why they are so "elusive"

This is why I am here. Beaked whales were mostly skull illustrations in books when I was a kid. Now I can see them swim!
