You mean "Bush X", right?

Only here in Canada apparently.

Bush got a lot of shit, but in retrospect they turned out to be a pretty legit band. Silverchair too actually.

Dude I forgot about Silverchair and am legit stoked to listen to “Frogstomp” all day tomorrow.

I don't know your definition of alternative, but here's ten albums from the alternative era of the 90s that I like better than Sixteen Stone (which I also own):
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
Are those in order 1 through 10?
Th1088@reddit
Just ten off the top of the dome without repeating artists. Sixteen Stone has a few good songs, but it wasn't terribly innovative. Stone Temple Pilots weren't too original either, but they had more good songs.

I personally dislike STP like a lot but think they have more of a place on that list than Green Day does.
Th1088@reddit
Dookie is better than any album STP put out except their greatest hits. But I'm guessing your definition of alternative = grunge.
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
My definition of alternative is alternative and not corporate punk. Bush is about as grunge as a brooks bros Catalog.
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
I did have Dookie T shirt back in the day that I wore the hell out of so no hate at all.
Th1088@reddit
All these bands were on major labels, except maybe Pavement early on, so they were all "corporate" at some level. I'm just focused on the music, not whether they "sold out" or whatever. Anyway, enjoy Bush -- it's not in my top ten, but I still like it fine.
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
Kinda wrong there regarding major labels if you are considering the time period of each of those albums - i agree most could be considered corporate sell outs with a few excluded. I also am not a giant bush fan and am in the same “like it just fine camp” in terms of albums - all I’m saying is that sixteen stone in my opinion is start to to finish one of the best textbook examples of alternative music. Not punk, not funk metal, not indie rock, not grunge - alternative. Also, blue album top 1 album of all time across all genres.

So how do define alternative?
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
In its purest form.
5am_dad@reddit
At first I thought this was going to be as post about a mashup of Sixteen Candles and Romancing the Stone... Very disappointed 😞
sandwiches_skis@reddit (OP)
Now that you’ve made that connection I’m equally as disappointed.
