Hungarian nationalism got created as a reaction, (even though Hungarians are totally identical to neighboring people, and a large part of the population was multilingual for centuries.)
Now there is a fragmented Carpathian basin, and a bunch of big daddy politicians in Hungary that try to submit entrepreneurs in the name of some common defence against whatever foreign invader.
