Are the ads in this subreddit random or targeted?

Every time I poke around in here I get ads for knee replacement. My knees are just fine, more or less, thankyouverymuch…

Pertinence to GenX - Posts may be removed if they are not pertinent to Generation X in a specific way.
This includes non-specific ramblings, any sort of conspiracy theories that have nothing to do with GenX, or posts about people who happen to be GenX….and that’s it.
AI videos or articles MUST have the proper flair identifying the content as AI.
Just because an article or video mentions Generation X does not automatically make it pertinent. Moderators will make this determination at their discretion.

It's retested targeted. Remember if it's free, you're the product. Reddit is no exception.

I’m confused. Y’all get ads on reddit?

I work in a hospital. Used to work in 2 at the same time for a while there. They’re definitely targeted, either by my location or what my phone overhears, or both. I’m in great shape, I workout, I eat right, etc., but my ads are always about things related to poor health, like knee replacement surgery (we do knee surgery several times a day here, every day, and I work in the surgery department. The ad right about this post was about knee replacement.

All Reddit ads are targeted at you via the algorithm based on what you look at.amd which suns you go to.
