Bike over rack weight just to get it home?

We have the older model of the Thule T2 rack, and we just ordered the Aventon Abound SR from a local shop. The rack says it can hold 60lbs each for two bikes. Without the battery the bike is about 72lbs. We just want to get the bike about 20 minutes home, what so you think about putting it one this rack for that drive? Or has anyone put a heavier than 60lb bike on this rack? I’m also worried that the fender will get in the way of the front support but was thinking I could just put that right in front of the fender? Thanks for any advice.

Take the battery out? That should save some weight

So the rack is rated for 120 pounds and the bike is 72? What the problem

I’m worried that each tray is only meant for 60lbs, but I’m also feeling like there is likely some wiggle room with that.

I wouldn’t worry. Put it on the tray closer to the car

Why not ride the bike home? Get dropped off and ride or home. Have the shop charge the battery if possible. That is what I did in that situation.
Eventually purchased a rack that could handle 2 Ebikes.

Yeah I probably need a new rack eventually, but we don’t plan to take this bike anywhere but our home in the near future.
