What do you guys think about and Ai examiner/DPE for practice. i saw checkrideready.org and it looked interesting, wanted to see if you guys have any experience with it or if you would use something like it yourself.

I have my private checkride coming up and im just nervous for the oral, what else do you reccomend I do to study then?
jet-setting@reddit
Read?
Read the ACS, and study the resources that are listed at the top of each task. That’s literally the answer key for everything you will be asked about.

I feel I know most of the knowledge well its just the getting my words out part that i feel like i could use help with. and tbh i dont know what i dont know so i though it would be helpful but idk lol

Go pay for an hour with an instructor that isn't your instructor.
Curious-Growth2801@reddit (OP)
instructors rates are $105 an hour where i go. flying is already expensive as it is and im trying to save where I can
FL060@reddit
If you're that worried about the oral portion, but worried about saving money, think about it this way:
How much is the reexamination fee if you fail?
jet-setting@reddit
Book a ground with your instructor. There are also some instructors here that are willing to do mock checkrides over zoom or similar.
You may pay a few dollars, but it far outweighs the very real risk of an AI resource getting things absolutely wrong.
There is also a small book you could get within a day or two on amazon called the “Oral Exam Guide” which has examples of the sort of questions you could be asked on every topic, and an appropriate correct answer.

quoting from the websites Q&A " is this a replacement for a real CFI? No — and it's not trying to be. CheckrideReady is a study tool that lets you practice and get comfortable with oral exam questions on your own time, so that when you do sit with your CFI or DPE, you're already sharp. Think of it as the gap between ground school and your actual checkride." I might try it out for a bit ive spent way to much money on flying so far
jet-setting@reddit
🤣 why even bother asking here then?
You do you dude. No one here cares. Just don’t try to suggest others should do the same.

This is probably an unpopular opinion but AI has proven very useful for me getting ready for my IR checkride.. but it has its limitations. For me I’m using it as a part of my study strategy, but not the entire strategy.
AGroAllDay@reddit
Dude, do you know how many free study guides are out there for free? Why would you use AI which has proven to be flawed?
Flavortown42069@reddit
Yes dude I’m aware and use tons of the study guides. AI has some flaws, but it’s not completely useless man. If you can understand its limitations (I don’t think you do because you think ALL of AI is flawed) it can be a very useful tool.
Curious-Growth2801@reddit (OP)
Thats what I have heard others tell me aswell. One common thing ive heard is the whole getting your words out thing is what people need the most practice with so i thought it would be helpful but idk
ammo359@reddit
AI is useful as a natural language search engine. You gotta use it to get references to FAA pubs and then read those, then it’s a net positive.
TxAggieMike@reddit
Against it.
Low_Sky_49@reddit
Absolutely not.
jet-setting@reddit
Go for it. DPE’s love repeat customers.
