You can gold plate a turd, but no matter how you slice it, it’s still a piece of shit.

Pizza is life
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
You and my wife are cut from the same cloth.
EitherChain7966@reddit
lol for real, like no matter how much cheese you throw on it, it’s still Chef Boyardee pizza… respect for trying tho 😂
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Don’t get me wrong. I love them! They’re comfort food for me. And this was actually quite delicious! I added more yeast to the mix then made a Detroit style pan pizza.
MuchDevelopment7084@reddit
Wait a minute. They still make Chef Boyardee pizza kits? I haven't seen one of those since the early 70's.
RUKiddingMeReddit@reddit
Yeah, I haven't seen one since I was a kid in the '80s.
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Well I do for one. Obviously. 🤣 my whole family still loves them. They’re a form of comfort food for us. It’s the only pizza I knew till I was in cub scouts and we went to a pizza parlor and built our own pizza. In fact it was also when i learned that most people put mozzarella cheese on them because my dad was to cheap to fork out for mozzarella and just put American cheese slices on our pizza at home.

What planet are you on? They’re in the aisle where they sell all the other pizza stuff in literally EVERY store I’ve ever been in. The only thing is now it’s just the dough mix and the sauce. They don’t come with the little packs of sawdust they labeled as Parmesan cheese. But you can an still get the version that comes with pepperoni in the sauce.
MuchDevelopment7084@reddit
I'm more interested in what planet you're on. They disappeared a long time ago. In literally any part of the US that I've lived in or visited in the last fifty years.
kentuckyskilletII@reddit
They’re still alive and well in louisville ky
Slinktonk@reddit
They’re everywhere still. We should ask what planet you live on.
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
They’ve been a food staple for my family since I was a kid. And now our kids consider them comfort food. It’s been a family tradition to send each other pictures of our creations since cellphones could sent them. Now even our kids get into it. My sister lives in Tx, I have a brother that’s in Massachusetts, and another in Wyoming My son lives in Minnesota and my daughter lives in Florida and no one has ever complained about not being able to find them. Heck you can even get them on Amazon
slimbender@reddit
Never heard of it either. Are you in the US? What region?
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
St. Louis Missouri.
SuspiciousSack@reddit
Listen here bud, this right there is a square meal.
RepresentativeFast59@reddit
Are you sure its not tangled up and wrecked? (Bad rectangle joke)
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
I was going to say that too!
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
🤣
Leading_Funny5802@reddit
I love Mr Boyardee … and I love what you’ve done with him. Bravo darling 😁
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Aw shucks.
RevolutionaryKey8565@reddit
Boyardeeeez nuts!
Southern_Sprinkles_6@reddit
TIL Chef Boyardee has pizza kits
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Whatya mean?
Canelosaurio@reddit
Chef Boyardee is more known for his canned pasta dishes
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
He also used to market a boxed spaghetti meal kit
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
You can thank WWII for that. I can honestly tell you that I have never ate a can of any his pastas. I took a bite of the ravioli and spit it in the trash! lol
Canelosaurio@reddit
It ws a staple at my childhood table.
Now, to me as an adult, it tastes sweet like ketchup.
non_scio@reddit
Staple of my house growing up. Very nostalgic
Southern_Sprinkles_6@reddit
Gotta try it now.
Brother_J_La_la@reddit
We were making these in the 80s, lol. They've been around for 70 years.
YourDadThinksImCool_@reddit
Well Damn
All_Hail_Hynotoad@reddit
Ditto
fallsstandard@reddit
Same, and I to this day will fuck up a can of Beefaroni given the opportunity, so I still pay attention to the good chef.
Geene_Creemers@reddit
Dude beefaroni is the under appreciated goat of the chefs menu 🫡
AbsoluteZer0_II@reddit
Chef Boyardizza?
Slinktonk@reddit
I feel like you baked the fuck out of it to get the crust that brown. Crouton level.
Golfnpickle@reddit
I love those pizzas! As a kid I put sliced hot dogs & velvetta on it. It was the first thing I ever learned to make.
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
My dad would put American cheese on ours. But that was just because he was too cheap to fork out for mozzarella. I was 7 or 8 before I ever had restaurant pizza and was like “ what’s with this white cheese?!?”
Golfnpickle@reddit
We never heard of mozzarella! It was 1972 in rural Ohio.
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
I was 12.
Golfnpickle@reddit
Me too!
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Really how cool!
Big_Researcher_3027@reddit (OP)
Interesting side note. There’s a YouTuber, Max Miller, who creates Tasting history. He did a segment on Chef Boyardee it’s an interesting watch. But then again all of his stuff is pretty interesting.
ulnek@reddit
Chef boyardee makes pizzas? I thought it was just canned food.

It looks fucking good chef, good job.
Veneboy@reddit
This would have been a top meal in my college days, when knock off mac and cheese without butter, but with tabasco, was a regular dinner.
Devmoi@reddit
Oh man. I remember getting these as a kid with my dad and we weee so excited about it. We made the pizza and it was truly an abomination. Both of us were like sheesh, this is not good. And I was probably like 5, so my dad was 33.

I'd like to make an appointment, Doctor.
