Kicked out of Flight School

Hi, I'm very disappointed. I am a international student from India and I came to the U.S. to learn about aviation, it has been my dream. I got kicked out due to many flight failures, I attended Part 141 and no improvements including failure on PAR written 3x.
I am looking to switch to Part 61, any suggestions since it's take your time and pay as you go?

Brother, I’m also from India and was in the exact same situation. Sounds like the threads agreeing to your lack of English knowledge being the reason why you’re dialing the PAR. I would say if you’re gonna switch to Part 61, make sure you’re legal to do so!
If you’re in a part 141 program at a college, you may have to switch majors and get an updated i20 and upload that to your FTSP! Find your part 61 and ensure they’ll take your ground time so you don’t have to repeat things your already know. Flying is hard but I don’t think you should give up right here.
Try seeing if part 61 is good for you and then throw in the towel if it’s not working! I sucked at Part 141 but switching to a part 61 has been so much better. Working on my IR and headed to Com by the end of this year🤞

It's time to look in the mirror. Failing the written 3 times (and other failures?) means this might not be for you.
Mobe-E-Duck@reddit
The man has English as a second language. Written exams are inherently harder.
Mad_Rooster_7164@reddit
They failed their driving test 5x, presumably in their native language.

Hard agree.
Watching your dreams go past you is horrible (notice I'm a nurse, not an aviation alphabet soup), but you recover, you find something that you don't have to force and 'just works'.
Mourn this loss. It's okay... It's very okay to NOT be okay about this for a long time.... But find something that will help you find the phoenix within you. Rise again and be better at something else. If I (of all people) can do it, so can you.

Agreed!

If you are in the US on a flight training visa then Part 61 is not an option.
If you are not in flight school then be careful you don’t over stay the terms of your visa. This can impact coming back.

His situation may be that he’s part of a collegiate aviation program. Idk if OP will see this but switching majors at his school and then going to his local flight school is definitely possible. All he really needs is his FTSP application, which is already done due to his part 141 attendance, and his I20 (school documentation).
But yea, if you don’t have that option. It’s gonna have to be training back in India, my friend.
HighRiskInv143@reddit
Failing a written 3x is ridiculous, you might want to consider a new career. This is for people who are actually serious.
Living_Guess_2845@reddit
You have a post from 11 days ago saying you passed on your 3rd attempt.
Living_Guess_2845@reddit
What are the failure codes from each written?
White_Hawk33@reddit
Do you not like to study the material. Also what part 141 school?
Hokie_Pilot@reddit
It’s okay, OP. You’ll probably get dragged through the coals in this sub but I know I would surely struggle to learn aviation (or any subject) in Hindi or Bengali or any foreign language that I don’t already speak.
My suggestion is focus on English first and work hard at it, because even native speakers get nervous when talking with ATC. Focus on that and then circle back to aviation.
Best of luck!
__joel_t@reddit
I would too! That's why I wouldn't try to do if.

If you are on a student visa, F1 or M1 visas for flight training need to be done at an approved 141 school. I don’t know a lot about how student visas work but considering the current climate, I think you may need to double check your visa is still valid if your school has ended your instruction.
You may need to choose a new approved 141 school. You can use this link to search. Select “flight school”.

Well f. Sportys then

They shouldn't have taken your money with non-proficient English. Sorry OP. Chin up. A lot of us native speakers don't know how easy we have it
burnheartmusic@reddit
If it’s English that you’re not proficient enough in, I would suggest working in that before continuing flight training. You need to be very good in English because there are so many different calls that the controllers say quickly, and understanding every one is important.

Hi very disappointed 👋
akstowaway@reddit
Damnit take my upvote.
Frost_907@reddit
I say this with the best intentions but training does not get easier as you move forward, especially if you are looking to make a career out of it. Going forward means more studying, more tests, more evaluations, and you aren’t off to that great of a start.
Keep in mind that these aren’t intended to be gatekeeping tests. You NEED to have a certain level of knowledge and skill in order to be able to fly safely. If you can’t attain that then getting kicked out of flight school might be the best thing for you if you wish to live a long life.
pilotjlr@reddit
Not everyone should be a pilot.
_-Cleon-_@reddit
You failed the written three times? I don't mean to be rude, but...how?
Maybe it's time to step back and see what you're doing wrong. I'm not saying there's no path forward. But you may want to take a sober look at what you're doing and how you're going about it, because something is seriously flawed with your approach.
Brendon7358@reddit
What did you struggle with? If it’s English issues then maybe do some more studying on that before trying again. If not then yeah, go part 61
Calm-Clue-9043@reddit (OP)
Just English
Gluten_Free_Graham@reddit
Master English first, then master the airplane. This path will be almost impossible to achieve unless you are extremely comfortable and confident with the English language.
Brendon7358@reddit
Yeah, definitely improve your English first before spending more money on flying. It’s a lot cheaper
IcedClout@reddit
What were your test scores and what codes you fail?
