DOT is updating scales on Trucker Path app to closed.

Has anybody else noticed this?
I've seen it in on Trucker path where a scale history will be marked

*Open inspection*

And when you get to the scale its clearly open and doing inspections with a long line of trucks.
That makes me think a DOT officer is sitting there constantly updating the scales to *closed* when they are very much open.
Anybody else notice this?

Reddit’s username resolution layer probably is failing at the string level. Its likely a client-side parsing or cache desynchronization issue.

Some do, some dont.
I think its a unicode normalization or font-rendering ambiguity. Certain characters can visually collapse under specific render engines, especially if the app is using fallback glyph substitution or aggressive text compression on mobile.
In other words, what you’re seeing may not be the canonical username string stored in Reddit’s database, but a malformed presentation layer interpretation of it.

No one has given you the answer yet but it goes based on how many driving mention it on the app like how someone already passed the scale then it pops up as a question on trucker-path if the scale is open or close the same way you should get that on your screen. Nothing is done by DOT.

Im not sure what you mean.
For it to be marked open or closed somebody has to mark it. It doenst just happen from people driving by or going through the scales.
It also only happens sometimes. If it were what you said, you would see it on all scales.

Well Trucker path is only as accurate as the drivers giving it input. And I agree, usually it's correct.

Yeah. Not DOT, but Louisiana State Patrol was doing it at some Louisiana weigh stations, I think. Trucker Path would show it open, then closed. Every time it showed open it would then show closed. When I got there it was open but I got bypassed.
