Harpy(succubus) in female form. From Persian rūspĩ. Destroying men by fornicating and doing evil things and loudmouthing, gossiping, scheming, etc. Not directly for gold/cash.
Streetwalker whore working at the curve.

So mythical creature?
Wild_cmpt6406@reddit
Not in the english western meaning of the word mythical.
My ex boss got married to one. When my brothers wife first laid eyes on her at the wedding she just said "Ova rospija ce da ga upropasti" "This rospija will ruin him".
Mind you she was like 24 lookalike Monica Belluci with medium tits, and a bit shorter, but similar butt, build, hair, face, eyes..
I laughed it off, but I knew it was true. That was 7 years ago and now he is in ruins...
RegionSignificant977@reddit
I meant the Persian meaning.
Wild_cmpt6406@reddit
Look it up, I don't know Persian. Its just one of the Persian words that are listed erronously as turkish.
RegionSignificant977@reddit
I was joking, brother. :)

Kurva is pretty much equivalent to the English word whore in the literal and everyday meaning.
Rospija is an insult for a woman that doesn't imply promiscuity in our everyday language, it's some kind of a combination of trashy and mean. Think a middle aged woman who's rude, mean, has bad manners, likes to gossip and badmouth people behind their backs.
NoHawk668@reddit
in short, rospija is an evil kurva.
RegionSignificant977@reddit
Lol! rospija comes from Turkish. Maybe our neighbors from Turkey can help with the semantics, but it's basically the same. Also used in the past in Bulgaria, not so these days.
Double-Aide-6711@reddit (OP)
In reality, it comes from the Persian language adopted by the Ottomans.
In my Romani language, I have many which comes from Persian words, but I don't know if I acquired this word before or after the Ottomans.
Early-Show2886@reddit
in Turkish its Oruspu yes...but also the term Fahise is used
Stealthfighter21@reddit
It's uruspia in Bulgarian.
RegionSignificant977@reddit
Same, different pronunciation.
rogomatic@reddit
Boooobeeeer...
CivilPerspective5804@reddit
I would use rospija to describe a specific type of low class woman. Dressed trashy and behaving like white trash.
Kurva is used to describe promiscuous women, regardless of other attributes.
So a person can be only one or both at once.
OkoMushrooom@reddit
Yes i’m seconding this, both of these terms are used to dehumanize women who want more other than what their culture allows them to have.
Stverghame@reddit
Kurva is literally just a whore
Rospija on the other hand HAS SO MANY LAYERS. Like she's likely a whore as well, but she's trashy, bitchy, aggresive, kitsch, cheap in every sense, quite often an alcoholic and heavy smoker, marriage destroyer etc.

same shit different name
