This is why instructors are always grouchy

Crazy low pay for the San Francisco Bay Area. You could literally make more flipping burgers here for that amount, and mind you they want someone with 2 years experience.
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Yep. I made $27.50/hr but I loved the job and wasn't a grouch except with upper management or when a trainee pissed me off. Most of my other coworkers were grouches though.
Uneventfulrice@reddit
One of my instructors took a baby bird out of an old unused reefer unit and stomped on it in front of the class and killed it.
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
I'm prior military and like dark shit and dark humor but that's straight fucked up
adidaman@reddit
Yeah that's much worse than the innocent lives you've taken serving old rich men who don't care about you
genocyde26008219@reddit
The lives are easy to take when they fuel us with caffeine, nicotine and hatred for liberal pussies like you who never served and therefore don’t have to experience it. You’re welcome cupcake 😘 😂
spartanantler@reddit
lol what? I’ve served and I’ve never killed anyone or fired a gun since bmt
adidaman@reddit
That's weird because like 78% of vets (verified statistics btw) you probably collect money for your "ptsd". Weird how that works
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Get the fuck out of here you pussy. I didn't kill anybody and we never should've gone to the middle east period or be in Iran right now. You don't know me period so shut the fuck up soy boy.
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
“Prior military” no one cares
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Like the other guy said, putting into context you douche. I'm not showing boating bragging idiot. Military and first responders are known for dark humor.
spartanantler@reddit
I mean he’s navy what do you expect
genocyde26008219@reddit
Surprised he was able to type a reply with all the dick he takes. “Beating the boys off with both hands” by the time they get out of boot. 😘 (also a vet.)
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Lol I knew some really cool navy guys but yeah this one's a square
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
Shit I seen just regular people in there during my many years. Female nurses, computer guys, infantry guys etc. all military isn’t just dark lol
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
No shit buddy but the majority aren't like that, why the need to comment lmao
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
Cause I’m fucking bored. Sitting in my room about to masturbate. I got 2 months until my nursing program with vr and e starts and I’m bored and grumpy and something got ahold of me.
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Hahaha fair enough
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
Alright. I’m about to tend to this dick. Talk to you later
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Carry on sir, just make sure you think of me when you do it 🫡
spartanantler@reddit
It’s putting context to the story dude.
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
As a retired navy corpsman, what does dark shit and dark humor have to do with the military?
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
I knew plenty of corspman with dark humor buddy, you sound like a square with a stick up his ass
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
I’m not saying they don’t have it but it doesn’t matter you’re prior military. Just say, “I have dark humor”. Your humor and job aren’t tied together
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Lmao you're just proving my point buddy, don't tell me what to say or not say.
Junior-Ingenuity-973@reddit
I never told you what to or not to say
spartanantler@reddit
Wait you’ve never experienced dark humor in the military
love_truck@reddit (OP)
Nah I’d of thrown down fuck that
DingleberryOrchard@reddit
I beg your pardon????
Emergency_Ad1152@reddit
Horrible day to be literate.
Jimpetey@reddit
That's CRAZY
TopDogTransport4731@reddit
lol some of my instructors were grouchy. It makes sense as students sometimes don’t listen and run over cones and one time a student backed into our office trailer which was protected by a Jersey barrier.
AsphaltPirate74@reddit
Damn lol. Yeah it happens, the worst I saw was a guy cut out on a main road in front of cars too soon of course I had to fail him, he drove a little wreckless the rest of the time too, and another guy back into a parked trailer lol
MinkMink25@reddit
I remember my instructor got arrested.
love_truck@reddit (OP)
For? You can’t be vague saying shit like that
MinkMink25@reddit
He took his class on a trip to a barbecue restaurant in the truck. There was a pig statue in front of the restaurant and he forced one of the girls to sit on the statue in front of him REALLY closely and he took pictures of it. She reported it to the program director, and he had him arrested the next day.
BTeamTN@reddit
Arrested? For a picture?
DingleberryOrchard@reddit
Have you ever worked anywhere? This is textbook sexual harassment.
BTeamTN@reddit
Maybe I didn't read it carefully enough or understand the full context. A picture was taken, in a public place.
As far as I am aware, and maybe this is a jurisdiction thing, I know (and agree with the premise) that someone can be fired/sued for Sexual Harassment. I have never heard of Sexual Harassment in the context and manner described in the previous post being a Criminal Tort subject to immediate arrest.
DingleberryOrchard@reddit
The instructor had a student (subordinate) entirely too close to them and took documentation (the picture) of the incident. What more do you want?
BTeamTN@reddit
I swear the description in words just aren't doing this alleged criminal act justice. I am in no way disputing it was a fireable offense that could be open to civil lawsuit of both the instructor and school. I fail to infer a criminally prosecutable act from the provided info.
Thank you for your attempts to quell my curiosity. My fascination is just peaked.
TopDogTransport4731@reddit
I actually thought you were going to say that the instructor was caught taking bribes to pass students.
Revival-Waters@reddit
No california encourages that. More CDls on the road the less the pay.
love_truck@reddit (OP)
Where’d you figure he’s from California? Taking upskirts of unsuspecting women sounds like a Florida thing more than anything else
Revival-Waters@reddit
I was reffering to the CDL mills.
California has a lot of them pumping out CDLs to people who cant speak English
GiantEnemaCrab@reddit
You will make around 17-20 per hour at Mcdonalds in Hayward. Don't lie. 26 per hour is the minimum, with real experience it would go up.
Also 8 hour shifts are you kidding me. OTR guys literally get less than Mcdonalds workers. They would suck cock for that kind of pay and reliable schedule.
Duchess1992@reddit
What otr guys do you know making less the a McDonald's worker?
GiantEnemaCrab@reddit
If you make 17 per hour at McDonalds that means 60 hours pays 1,200 after overtime. Any OTR guys making less than that per week should just quit and flip burgers.
Captain_Wag@reddit
I don't know if it's been a while since you've had an entry level job, but it's not like that anymore. Companies prioritize min/maxing profits over quality of service. They'll purposely give their employees just under full time to avoid giving them benefits. Getting 60 hours at a fast food place is basically unheard of.
Duchess1992@reddit
Nobody is getting 60 hours at McDonald's. They're not getting 40
dragongamer365@reddit
$26/hr in Cali? What the fuck are they on? That's only $52,000/yr. You can easily make more than that being a yard jockey.
love_truck@reddit (OP)
You can make more at Panda Express, no joke
RaphealWannabe@reddit
All blue collar industries are overflowing with miserable people who feel entitled to treat everyone else like Shit!
bicyclewhoa17@reddit
One of my instructors was talking to a group of us and he was kinda swinging his arms around to emphasize a point and a nip bottle fell out of his jacket. He tried to lie and say he keeps it on him as a reminder of the habit he used to have… lol
AndromedanPrince@reddit
classic af lol
TiddybraXton333@reddit
They raised minimum wage to like 19$ hr in Canada ffs
GabtsbyForaDay@reddit
Down here at the la/lb ports i was 32hr and dropped to 29. I know some comps that paid 34 but they pushed for over 12 hours. The owner is cool and i only work 4 days. Some days are still too long but its a trade off knowing i have 3 day weekends every week and not them pushing to work a 6th. Was at one company that paid very well but they pushed aggressively to work earlier and later.
kickniteasy@reddit
I run a trucking school.....got my CDL to get out of education and they kept me on while I was job hunting to teach pretrip. Worked my way up from there. I've left a few times for experience or good opportunities but this is what I love. Unfortunately, it's a small school, not a mill. While I get paid decent, there's no benefits, so I'll probably have to quit soon. It's no different than when I was in public education....people complain about trucking schools and quality but half my phone calls they complain about price. Everyone wants a 3 course steak dinner for McDonalds prices.
Hairy-Internal2307@reddit
26 a hour to listen to a class of 10 students. 2 pregnant females 3 who can't read 4 who are on a free program and dont give a fuck and 1 or 2 who actually care. 2 of them will fail the drug test even though you keep repeating to them there is a drug test! And all of them saying they want a home daily thay pays atleast 3k a week.
Bogey01@reddit
I'm just a company trainer. That being said. The extra couple dollars I get to be in the passenger seat with people who are borderline suicidal with their driving, is not enough.
And while new kids are dangerous, I know without fail I'm about to have a bad day if the driver goes "I've been doing this for ___ amount of years, I know how to drive".
Critical_Opening_526@reddit
5 years as an instructor, and 2 years as an examiner.
I tried.
I did. I tried to get them to be good, safe, professional drivers.
About the time he picked his phone up on the road to make a tiktok is about the time I fucking lost it.
I got in trouble for screaming at a student. He got told not to be on his phone.
That was when I quit.
Admittedly, I was making way more than 26/hr.
truckinfarmer379@reddit
You literally just about described my class when I went to get my license
gamingtrucker1@reddit
This was my class.
theboywthagreenscarf@reddit
lol mine too. I was the only one who said I wanted to go otr.
driver004@reddit
Eh no skin off my nose if they paid to fail
DoubleDoinky@reddit
Clearly you've been an instructor before!
valboots@reddit
I'd argue it's the amount of people attending your classes who don't or can't follow instructions because they have no grasp of the English language, and they can't say anything without sounding extremely racist.
Life-Excitement8217@reddit
Try getting paid $17😂
