1930 Ruxton.

10/10 callout, honestly could do 15 just from the 1930s. SS Jaguar 100 also had insane headlights.
Dude_Dillligence@reddit
The Ruxton had Woodlites, which were IIRC also available on ACD and other coachbuilt cars. There was also a company called Mars that made spotlights for vehicles, and I got a laugh when I spotted one on an old ambulance because the the brass nameplate said in fancy script, "The LIGHT From MARS".
LordRavensbane@reddit
I’ve seen Woodlites on a number of early 30s Packards. The entire point is the look because they don’t really work very well as headlamps. Also check out the Ford Brewster, really art deco looking cars

My god, that is a beautiful automobile.

Was expecting a Porsche 928 here

BMW vaGINA is something else.

Cizeta-moroder V16T more headlights per headlight
DanGleeballs@reddit
At first thought the Cizeta was a Diablo and funnily enough it was built by ex Lamborghini engineers.

I’ve always wanted a y-job

This has to be the ugliest car ever... conceived.
It's the naked mole-rat of cars!

Pop up, up and down headlights!
Primo0077@reddit
Man I vastly prefer rotating headlights to pop-ups, they look so much more elegant than pop-ups. Not an especially weird example, but the 66 Dodge Charger does it extremely well, along with the pictured Opel GT and Buick Y-Job

BTW this is a really High quality post.

What drugs do you need to be on to call the Fiat Multipla "handsome"??
storycars@reddit (OP)
So glad you saw that 😆

All of them

1965 Buick Riviera first, foremost, and always.

Citroen AMI 6. First square lights.

The opel mechanism is pretty neat, but the headlights of a corvette rotate through more than 120° to deploy...
BurnThePage@reddit
How much of this plays into depth perception at night? I get these are outliers, but are there specific distance parameters for how far apart headlights are? I know I tell my kids to watch out for jeeps at night because they are closer together, and it may make the vehicle look further away if all you have to judge is the headlights at night.
MoreThanComrades@reddit
Citroen SM has crazier headlights than the DS.
Not only is there three of them on each side, but the swivel is hydraulically controlled instead of through a linkage, and they added a vertical stabilization too.
And you may ask yourself “why does a car with self leveling suspension need self leveling headlamps?” And that’s because they wanted to make sure the headlights stayed level even under braking and acceleration.
Yea, the French were beyond crazy.
fishsticks40@reddit
The Cord 810/812 is my dream car.
lndianJoe@reddit
So the DS is weird, but the Multipla is handsome ?

Peugeot 508. I really like the fangs

Where’s the Alfa Romeo Montreal?
