Visiting this weekend. Where can I get pizza, burgers, chicken fingers and of course Texas BBQ. I have a car but would prefer to have some recommendations closer to where I’m staying. Visiting from Canada. Thanks!!

You need to eat vietnamese food in richardson. They have some of the best in the country.

Surprised no one has brought up Mike's Chicken yet. There's one on the edge of Plano and Richardson and they have the best fried chicken and chicken tenders in the metroplex IMO.

Ten50 is aight for TX BBQ but it’s not earth shattering.
Cattleack Barbecue in Farmers Branch is consistently ranked in the Top 5-10 for BBQ in the state by Texas Monthly magazine. It isn’t too far away from Richardson. Like a 15 min drive. Worth the drive and wait.
Pro tip: They’re only open on Wednesday through Fridays from 10AM to 2PM and on the first Saturday of every month. Try to get there early before lunch. Once they’re out of BBQ, they’re out.

Here’s a map with all the best spots around that area. Enjoy!

Just go down to Spring Valley and pick any place there except the Waffle House (wait do they have those in Canada, if not then it might be worth the trip for different reasons)

Partenope for Pizza is amazing in downtown Richardson. Top 50 pizzas in the United States.

Pizza: industrial, partenope, cane rosso, zalat
Burgers: Sky Rocket hands down, there’s other good ones mentioned here too but sky rocket is a favorite for a lot of people for a reason
Chicken: for fingers, like someone else said, I’d do a chain like Canes or Golden Chick. We have a Birdcall as well that has tenders and other chicken types. If you’re open to hot chicken, Richardson has Ricky’s hot chicken. Dave’s is also an option but I can’t speak for it.
BBQ: nowhere in Richardson lmao. If you’ve got a car and want real Texas bbq, it’s worth the extra time and gas to go to a better place outside of Richardson. I’ve tried Ten50 multiple times since the day it opened, I’ve always been disappointed
Randoms: you didn’t ask but I’d second other commenters here with trying some of our Asian cuisine here in Richardson, it’s great. I’d suggest trying an independent coffee shop if that’s your thing, we have a few gems here. I also always recommend chains you don’t have back home! If you like ice cream, definitely get a scoop or cone from Braum’s!
I hope you enjoy your time here! Would love to hear what you end up trying and enjoying.

If you’re only sticking only to Richardson and the close surrounding area here’s some places I recommend including but not limited to….
Al Baghdady - excellent middle eastern food
La Salsa Verde - my favorite taco spot
Partenope - top pizza place
Fortunate Son - another top pizza place
Noodle Wave - great Thai food
Dels Charcoal Burgers - great burgers, been around forever
Sky Rocket - my favorite burger spot
First Chinese BBQ - authentic Chinese, cash only
For bbq, the place I recommend is Hutchens BBQ but it’s in McKinney and requires a 15-20 min drive depending on where you are in Richardson

Cant go wrong w/ Del's Charcoal Burgers if you are on the east side. There are a lot of options for chicken fingers but I always just get Canes or Golden Chick if I want chicken fingers. Been meaning to try this place as it has good reviews. https://bbqchicken.com/ None of my favorite BBQ places are in Richardson so curious what others will say. I personally did not love Ten50, though the location is super nice. Maybe I just caught it on an off day. We have DFW Chinatown over here as well with a ton of great food. Lots of great middle eastern options if you are into that. Other random favorites are Phở Pasteur, and Amigos Acá y Allá for excellent Tex-mex.
