Who sees my witness statement?

I was a witness to a car accident at the weekend and a passenger in the crash. Thankfully everyone involved was physically unharmed.
I have agreed to be a witness for insurance purposes (the police were not involved) and i'm just curious as to when I give my statement will it be kept confidential between both insurers or will the drivers see it also?

This would class as a none reportable RTC which would be managed by the insurance company only. There is no need for those involved to be more involved than they have been. The insurance company will contact the police regarding the statement and this will be passed over electronically

This is incorrect. The police won't have any involvement

You're correct. The police said the drivers were just to exchange insurance details! I've never done a witness statement before and one of the drivers is a family friend. So, I take it the insurers keep my statement strictly between them to build/argue the case?

I've given a more detailed reply in another comment but in short, not necessarily.

The police never got involved as they told one of the drivers to just exchange insurance details. So, will my statement that I have already made be kept confidentially between the different insurers?

Apols misread that.

It depends. If liability isn't contested, then it might just be the insurance company that you gave the statement to.
If liability is contested, then it will likely be shared with the other insurer if it supports the position of the insurer you gave it ti. If it doesn't support their position, then they would be unlikely to share it but the other insurer may also contact you for a statement.
It may be shared with the drivers, to ask them for their comments. If the insurers can't resolve it between themselves, then lawyers might be instructed to pursue legal action and they would be passed a copy from their instructing insurer.
