Got my PPL March 2023; since then, I’ve only accumulated 60 hours with two 9+ month breaks while I figured out some life stuff…

…including if I wanted to pursue a career change to flying.
I know I should give myself grace about being: a) apprehensive about flying solo in not so perfect weather that’s otherwise safe to fly in, (b) super rusty and behind the plane doing flight test maneuvers, but it’s something that I am kinda beating myself up about.
For those who have returned to flying after extended periods, how did you cope with the mental stress of getting your confidence back?

You just have to go fly more. The same as what likely happened during your PPL training: the confidence will naturally come the more you do it.
I've had a few lulls, and am on a almost 3 year one right now due to kids. But I'm not worried about picking it back up like I was the other times. I have more experience/hours overall now, but I also know I'll pick it back up without too much trouble.
Good luck! You'll be fine

You don’t cope, you fly. Go up with a CFI to shake the cobwebs off if you have to. Go on and couple of long XCs. Dont stress, just get in the air buddy
