I want to feel like a soldier commissioned by the British Royal Navy in the 1750s, colonizing islands on the other side of the world. What do I need to do?

Stop ingesting vitamin c and start raping locals.

I think the Spanish and Portuguese get the crown of most rapey

Nobody said "most" and that's not a competition.

This guy eighteenth century navies.

Pretty much what they were doing on land too though, without even joining the forces!

Sounds like ISIS

Definitely stop showering

There was dengue in the DR the first time I was there, I assume he could probably still find some there; or some malaria.

Your best bet is start in the Phillipines. You have a real chance of running into people living similarly to natives, untouched nature, and the real possibility of pirates. If you want to truly isolate then just head south to Papua New Guinea and then east thru Samoa, Cook islands, French Polynesia, Easter Island and then north to Galapagos.
Assuming you're looking for adventure here, not subjugation of others? Colonizing isn't a cool word so if you're gonna do this then maybe refactor that vocab as negative to people you encounter in the world.
If you're looking to find uncontacted natives - there really aren't many in the world and those that exist are well protected by laws preventing you from doing so.

This post is not related to sailing so it has been removed.

To start, like the Pirates of Penzance, you will need to wear your silver buckled slippers and some tight, shiny pants. Then, you want to sing and dance...

First Ray Stevens ref I've seen on Reddit. You're cool; you can hang out on my boat.

Stop spelling colonise with a zed for a start

Start listening to the Patrick Tull narrated Patrick O'Brian audiobooks. You'll be 'right there.'
coastalwebdev@reddit
I was going to recommend pick up and read that book series, but now I want to hear the audio book versions.
Anstigmat@reddit
Stick with the Patrick Tull narration. He really makes the series come alive.

Just heard a preview of book 1. Seriously good, and I'm sold.

Practice arrogantly assuming that your culture, food, religion is better than everyone else’s, prepare to kill a bunch of people with your diseases, and prepare to rape a bunch of people.

Stop using hot water and toilet

Eat half rotten food and get flogged for minor infractions.

First things first: you need a hat.
acunningham@reddit
Not the hats pictured. They're bicorn hats, which became fashionable in the 1790s. In the 1750s you want a tricorn hat.
fuckin_atodaso@reddit
The OP is definitely coming in as a landsman, I don't think he would be getting a fancy hat. I feel like he would be having some sort of stained beanie.
SeaRow556@reddit
And a cutlass or 2

Stick a flag in your neighbor's yard and say you claim this uninhabited land as your own. Then enslave him.

And give him smallpox

Get scurvy.
Candygramformrmongo@reddit
Trick question: The Royal Navy didn't commission soldiers. Consider a lifestyle of scurvy, fever, procuring patronage, and sodomy

Rum, bum, and the lash
pab_guy@reddit
You want to be miserable? Why? The British navy had to shanghai sailors to get them on ships lmao
BeCurious7563@reddit
Just remember no one is as civilized as you, start taking your tea with milk, and be prepared to add a spot of genocide now & then.
RulyKang@reddit
Eh, go sail on a tall ship or something. Preferably a Training Ship
