what is weirdest snack you eat?

mine is definitely stock cubes, the ones you’re meant to use to cook. i’m addicted to the taste of the knorr vegetable ones and i have a little nibble as a daily treat
Chippyhands@reddit
If I’m feeling really naughty, I’ll dip Tesco ‘ready salted potato crisps’ (the ones that look like tiny, crispy McDonald’s chips) into Tesco finest chocolate mousse
Spanner1993@reddit
Try McDonalds chips dipped into your favourite milkshake. Class.
Alternative_Dream_12@reddit
I have a core childhood memory of showing my dad this and him being impressed, to my surprise 😂
Broken_Woman20@reddit
My daughter dips McNuggets into a McFlurry. Can’t say I’m rushing to try it tbh lol
rebelallianxe@reddit
I could see that being nice. I like salty crackers dipped in Nutella.
IcyPie6377@reddit
Try the Norwegian snack - Smash! my friend, you will never look back! 👌
watchingonsidelines@reddit
No! Don’t recommend snack crack, it’s so irresponsible 😉
IcyPie6377@reddit
Sorry. 😔 But yes it is. And when I heard salty crackers and Nutella my mind went immediately to those little nuggets of sublimeness in a yellow packet.
First time I ever bought them the cashier said they are dangerous. They weren't kidding.
LDoone374@reddit
They had a really good deal in Oslo airport a couple of years ago. I saw a guy fill an entire camping backpack! I also bought as many as imcould carry, it's insanely good...
DarthScabies@reddit
Have you tried Milka TUC? 🤤
Whiteshadows86@reddit
What? That’s an actual thing 😧
Where can I find them??!??
IcyPie6377@reddit
It's true!!! They exist!!! It's not just an urban myth.
IcyPie6377@reddit
Wait. What?!
Cfunk_83@reddit
There’s a Scandinavian snack called Smash, which is kind of this. They’re salted “corn chip” bugles covered in chocolate and they’re the most moreish thing I’ve ever eaten!
IcyPie6377@reddit
Mentioned that above and was duly and quite rightly chastised for my irresponsibility!! 😁
TwoLucid@reddit
I dip my McDonald's fries in chocolate milkshake
Bastrato@reddit
Salt and vinegar pringles with Nutella is elite.
DollySheep32@reddit
Upgrade to pretzels, different mouth feel of crunch and saltier
Vetni@reddit
Probably not too weird, but I love a good rolled up slice of ham
MoodyBernoulli@reddit
I’ve got a brilliant snack I’ve been doing since I was a kid.
Get a piece of ham. Put a small block of cheese on it, say the size of a sugar cube or a match box. Put a little dollop of branston pickle on it and fold the ham around it. Pop it in your mouth in one go.
Bloody delicious.
Shit_goose1995@reddit
I do this with red sauce but your way sounds so much better
Impatient_butterfly@reddit
I do that, but with coleslaw in the middle
Haunted_Duck721@reddit
Ham doobie.
Vetni@reddit
A ham joint, if you will
ReynoldsHouseOfShred@reddit
Osrs players chuckling right now
Vetni@reddit
Hey, that's me
MasticatedBrain@reddit
Ham, cheese and your favourite sauce rolled up is peak snack!
Bez666@reddit
Some on the sandwich and some as as a pre snack nibble
Naive-Most590@reddit
As a child I used to munch the tops off matches and eat them.
Limit_Ok@reddit
I ate one of my cats Dreamies once.. and I thought it tasted nice. 🤔
just_a_flutter@reddit
I have done this and though the opposite. Which flavour?
Limit_Ok@reddit
Uhh I believe it was Tasty Chicken. The orange ones.
dotben@reddit
That's a lot of sodium (salt) you are consuming with stock cubes. Especially if you are eating multiple of them (think about the amount you would consume if it was diluted into stock across a recipe).
I would definitely caution consuming too much and potentially looking to see whether there is something else lacking in your diet that is leaving you to crave this.
k0n3kt@reddit
Chips n milkshake dont knock it till you try it
just_a_flutter@reddit
Mcdonald's - chips in a Mcflurry
BouncyCatMama@reddit
Agreed
cheechchong38@reddit
I love frozen peas as a snack, my daughter used to eat dry cat food like it was peanuts
carguy143@reddit
People think digestive biscuits with butter is weird. I think they're weird.
butterflyrattle@reddit
My nan would make me rich tea biscuits with butter, not had one in years!
Scorpiodancer123@reddit
Aw my did those too. Weirder but also strangely nice dry Weetabix with Kerrygold butter. Don't know how she ever had the idea to do it and it's messy as hell but also strangely good.
quirkygirlxxx@reddit
I used to be a ward housekeeper in a hospital and had quite a few older patients over the years asked for dry weetabix with butter, they loved it, I never tried but am curious now, I might have to try it haha
Scorpiodancer123@reddit
Quick Google suggests this is a generational thing. Maybe war rations? Who knows. I haven't had it since I was qas a kid and now I'm going to have to try it again.
Loakie69@reddit
Digestive, butter & cheese 👌🏻
J8YDG9RTT8N2TG74YS7A@reddit
Digestives biscuits with cheese spread are also pretty good.
Any_Crazy_500@reddit
Never had butter, mayonnaise yes, but not butter.
rebelallianxe@reddit
I put cream cheese and jam on them. Tastes like cheesecake.
donnerstag246245@reddit
Yes! Such a hit! In summer I put them in the freezer for a few minutes for a cold dessert
Queasy-Love-3496@reddit
Me too, quick mini cheesecake!!
purpydrag@reddit
Ohhh, I'm trying that! I've got a jar each of Alphonso mango & Passion fruit preserve, I'm trying both!
FreshMontrealer12@reddit
Clearly they’ve never had a Hovis Digestive - butter, chutney and some prosciutto
porcelain_toenail@reddit
Prosciutto?! Found the imposter ☝️ no one from the UK would dare putting foreign meats on something as so quintessentially British as a digestive. That's a cardinal sin. Go back to Italy!
FreshMontrealer12@reddit
I’m a Brit that lived in France - that’s as close to Italy as I got 🤣
porcelain_toenail@reddit
Fr*nce? God, it's worse than I thought....
FreshMontrealer12@reddit
I know, come save me 🥹
porcelain_toenail@reddit
You're Fr*nch now, there's no cure and it's terminal. I'm so sorry.
One day soon you'll wake up in a bed full of fresh baguettes and camembert wheels, and you'll only be able to whisper hon hon hon before the lights slowly dim. Farewell, friend.
FeedingTheBadWolf@reddit
Yeah that's just like a standard cheeseboard/charcuterie type affair though. Those hovis biscuits you get in the biscuit multipaxks are essentially the same thing aren't they?
Unless you're using the chocolate ones. In which case, yeah, that's weird.
FreshMontrealer12@reddit
Yeah they’re the same ones!
imalwayshungr@reddit
A staple in my snack selection!
ReynoldsHouseOfShred@reddit
I might try this. Normally I do peanut butter and sweet chilli on them
cookie_mumster@reddit
I used to put brussels pate on digestives instead of on crackers- so good!
Infinite_Ad4251@reddit
And cheese
RipsnRaw@reddit
Tbf Carrs wheatmeal crackers taste an awful lot like digestives so i imagine that’s quite nice
Bez666@reddit
Me brother used to have rich tea with butter on
BirdieStitching@reddit
My nana used to give us rich tea with butter on, a throwback to the war
Suspicious_Put_5063@reddit

Anonimoose15@reddit
Nori sheet dipped in soy sauce
Frozen veg straight out of the bag
Raw broccoli with lemon juice and black pepper
A spoonful of whole grain mustard
Take your pick 😅
The_Vore@reddit
Piccalilli on toast is my favourite food!
Neddlings55@reddit
I cant decide if im boring or normal.
bombhead70@reddit
Peanut butter and marmite sandwiches.
TeHNeutral@reddit
That's not weird at all, they even make marmite peanut butter thought it's like rocking horse poo. I'm about to eat marmite peanut butter with cheese on toast, which might be a bit weirder.
FeedingTheBadWolf@reddit
I put cheese on noodles. Not spaghetti. Noodles - like super noodles or pot noodle type things. Instant ramen.
It's vegan cheese so maybe not as bad BUT I did this with dairy cheese back in the day as well so...
Dependent-Bother647@reddit
Chicken super noodles used to suggest having them on toast with cheese on top on the packet. Nom!
Etheria_system@reddit
Cheese added to ramen is super common in South Korea
Vaxtez@reddit
I eat my Noodles with Baked beans & cheese. You aren't that weird.
DellaMorte_X@reddit
Yeah not weird, my Mrs got me in to this but I like my noodz soupy so go mix drier with cheese. Way better than I thought it’d be.
Bez666@reddit
I usually have a boiled egg or sometimes a fried egg with a bit of grated cheese in my ramen and some little sausages warmed up.
Maleficent_Day_3869@reddit (OP)
this isn’t weird imo. loads of people do it. i don’t eat ramen without cheese ever
fwendy123@reddit
I have been known to eat sliced raw red onions with Bovril on
Absentmined42@reddit

Suspicious_Put_5063@reddit
Oooooh
TripsyN03@reddit
Ooh I bet that is nice.
mcneil1345@reddit
Kiwi with the skin on. My brother was mortified when he saw me eating it like an apple, but saves the faff of having to cut it up or spoon it out. Plus, more vitamins and fibre.
ghoulquartz@reddit
Salt and balsamic vinegar pasta or nissin demae tonkotsu ramen without the soup, seasoning packet straight onto the noodles
SceneDifferent1041@reddit
The occasional spoonful of French Mustard.
Bez666@reddit
Tomato puree butty..no butter just the puree
diamonds_and_rose_bh@reddit
Oh I used to make toast pizza like this when I was a kid......slice of white bread, tomato puree, grated cheese, sprinkle of mixed herbs and then under a grill till the cheese bubbles, delicious!
Bez666@reddit
I use a tortilla wrap an slap some pepperoni on too.
StockholmGirl29@reddit
My husband and his brother used to have tomato ketchup and salad cream sandwiches when they were kids. He reminisces that they would put almost anything between two slices of bread! I can remember having a thing for lettuce and salad cream sandwiches when I was at college. Nothing else, just lettuce!
Bez666@reddit
Lettuce and salad cream is good..I enjoy a good pulled beetroot and cheese sandwich
StockholmGirl29@reddit
Yum! Love beetroot with just about anything!
Hell0imjonEcache@reddit
Peter’s dough dough crackers topped with

arenaross@reddit
Sorry you can't just write that post and not elaborate.
Just so I'm very very clear. You like to munch on a stock cube?
Is everything okay at home?
Maleficent_Day_3869@reddit (OP)
don’t judge, it’s delicious! it’s too salty for me to eat it all so i have maybe a fifth of it then put it away for the next day. it’s bloody delicious
Etheria_system@reddit
Have you ever done stock cube pasta? It’s an old Nigella recipe. Sadly not online but it’s in her how to eat book and is essentially spaghetti, butter and a crumbled stock cube. There might be some extra things, I haven’t had it for a while now but I ate it a lot as a teen
Eyupmeduck1989@reddit
How do you store it and ensure someone else doesn’t use your partially nibbled cube?
Nkhotak@reddit
All my family used to eat oxo cubes when I was a kid. That and raw jelly cubes. I only ever have a nibble these days.
donnerstag246245@reddit
Have you ever like rubbed the cube on a piece of toast? I haven’t but it may work lol
ChoppingOnionsForYou@reddit
Yeah, me too.
arenaross@reddit
Wild
DellaMorte_X@reddit
I do it, OXO cubes too. Just little bubbles now and again as b salty otherwise.
I’ll have one hot in a mug now and again too. I know that’s a thing, with oxo or Bovril at least.
sequentialogic@reddit
Chocolate chip mini weetabix. Dunked in coffee.
sophiemoores@reddit

Few-Calligrapher3910@reddit
Crunchy peanut butter and coleslaw sandwich. It's so good.
Old_Bean_72@reddit
A ready salted crisp and salad cream sandwich - is that weird?
JuniorToe3327@reddit
Nothing wrong with this, great sandwich
Mispict@reddit
We used to get these cheese onion and salad cream sandwich from the school canteen and add a bag of beef discos. Outstanding.
Eyup_Amigo@reddit
Obviously had a crisp butty before but never with salad cream, need to try that!
Bez666@reddit
No do that myself occasionaly.
noinstantkarma@reddit
yeah nah you’re both weird for that
EatingCoooolo@reddit
Can of sardines to hit that 180g of protein a day
Im_the_Rhymenocerous@reddit
Are croutons weird? I would rather eat croutons than chips. I have to buy two bags, one for snacking and one for salads... And even then it's rare they make it to my salads
MaggieMcB@reddit
Oxo beef cubes as a hot drink
TheYorkshireGripper@reddit
Isn't this just a Bovril drink?
Bez666@reddit
I do that but had a thing for licking me fingers with the oxo on .
RestlessCynic@reddit
So what happens if you spill some in your lap 👀
HenryFromYorkshire@reddit
Same. And whenever I crumble an oxo cube into food, I keep a little bit just to eat. Salty deliciousness.
Jealous_Sympathy9402@reddit
Same here but the chicken ones. Weird but my gran got me on then when I was a kid and I’ve never looked back
Maleficent_Day_3869@reddit (OP)
i do this too
infiresbeach13@reddit

Maleficent_Day_3869@reddit (OP)

TinksLudo@reddit
I commented pasta too, glad I'm not the only one. Never done the Mars bar thing though adds to shopping list
A_Literal_Fruit_5369@reddit
Not me but an old flatmate in uni did this. They’d dip a banana in a jar of the green pesto. Another snack was to make a pot noodle, scoop out all the noodles and make them a sandwich
Maleficent_Day_3869@reddit (OP)
i think the noodle sandwich is pretty standard. i’ve met a few who do that
A_Literal_Fruit_5369@reddit
Really? That was like 6 years ago and I’ve never met anyone else who eats them
Proud-Initiative8372@reddit
A Glasgow hangover cure frequently includes a pot noodle with buttered bread (often a crispy morning bread roll)
StockholmGirl29@reddit
Super noodle sandwiches are a favourite in my house. The kids love them, especially the chicken ones on white buttered bread. Hubby and I like the bacon ones on a slab of buttered sourdough as a hangover cure if we've actually escaped from the house for a quick bevy. This would be one and a half times a year!
Bez666@reddit
My kids always have a couple of slices of bread and butter when they have a noodles .I do it when having spaghetti bolognase so that's prob where they get it from.
Various_Implement_92@reddit

Toast with Greek yoghurt (if you can get lemon or Greek yoghurt, even better).
I don’t think it’s weird, but people give me funny looks so….
autobulb@reddit
Not so weird, I've used Greek yoghurt or the even more strained and thicker version called labneh in place of cream cheese or sour cream.
Any_Crazy_500@reddit
I’m a fan of Mayonnaise on digestive biscuits. Not had it for a while though.

Next time, try that with mango, a little salt, and chili.
salty_sherbert_@reddit
Haven't done it for years, but someone commented rolled up ham and it reminded me that as a kid I used to put slices of ham in the microwave as it made them go all crispy and crinkled up and delicious

Legal_Alternative258@reddit

Legal_Alternative258@reddit
Devildog (I've met him a couple of times on markets and at chilli festivals) really knows how to make a hot sauce while retaining flavour so yes, little biased towards his brand.
Cyril_Sneer_6@reddit
That's intense
Legal_Alternative258@reddit
It's the flavour.
It's so unique and unlike any other chilli but yes, it's warm.
Cyril_Sneer_6@reddit
Great flavour, I love them in Jamaican food. Not sure I could eat them raw. Love chillies but eating them raw is a different story. Still, if I could I probably would.
Legal_Alternative258@reddit
I've been eating hot foods since I was a kid, my old man always loved a madras so now in my 30s, I've built a tolerance to it.

Yum indeed, I'll have to try that!
DellaMorte_X@reddit
I treat myself to a tin of salted anchovies in oil once a week. - lasts me a few days but I snack on them on their own or sometimes with crisps. Latter is probably weirder right?
Eyup_Amigo@reddit
I do the same, or just whack them on toast. Not tried the crisps though.
imalwayshungr@reddit
I love chilli heatwave Doritos, dipped in Nutella.
Now, given the cost of Doritos (£2.50 a bag can shove it), partial to a Thai Sweet Chilli Sensation and a 'cheap' chocolate spread. Cheap, simply because it's a little easier to scoop a nice dollop. The sensations aren't as strong as Doritos!

I love a stock cube in a glass of hot water, but I haven’t yet started nibbling on them
I will regularly buy a jar of pickles and eat the lot, then add sriracha to the vinegar and drink it.
My fave tho is if I have a couple of spare bananas I can dip in the spicy pickle brine. I love it
OpeningWhereas6912@reddit
I can imagine sriracha in pickle vinegar a bit like the mocktail version of a spicy margarita
Sixforsilver7for@reddit
Add the siracha pickle mix too the beef stock. Also works with rice wine vinegar instead of pickle juice.
Sure_Reply6054@reddit
I’m not the only one! I’ll taste test the chicken stock pots, you know the jelly like ones. Mmmm salty and chickeny! I will point out I do this with a spoon, and literally just a little bit. The rest goes in the dinner.

msmoth@reddit
Yes to dry Smash in little cubes!
PomPomBumblebee@reddit
At uni I got into a habit of trying to eat Smash as raw as possible with only the TINIEST bit of water/ milk so it was rather dry and a bit crunchy. I liked it with tuna and Cheese.
WraithOfEvaBraun@reddit
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who loves eating stock cubes 😭😆 Beef Oxo...yum
I also used to be partial to cans of baby carrots in brine, I'd just eat them straight up, same as tins of sliced mushrooms in brine 😋

Oh and one the rare occasion I go to the the cinema, I buy a magnum and nibble the chocolate coating off all sides and then dunk it in my popcorn and eat the popcorn off the icecream
