Should I stick with the RTX 3070Ti or upgrade to the RX 9060XT (16GB)?

So, I stream quite a bit from FiveM, Minecraft, to The Sims 4, and every game I stream I tend to mod the hell out of it. I stream on both Tik Tok Live Studios and OBS (Twitch) at the same time and the stream quality means a lot to me (although I do cap it at 1080p/60fps with a high bitrate as Tik Tok is where most of my community is).
My Sims 4 game has around 30,000 mod and cc files and I can definitely see texture swapping when I'm gaming and I can already tell I'm pushing my 3070Ti to it's limits with the amount of mods in my Minecraft game and even in FiveM (since the server I'm in has around 700-800 mods).
Do you think an upgrade to the RX 9060XT (16GB) would be a solid upgrade from my RTX 3070-Ti? I feel like the extra VRAM and newer card would alleviate some of the issues I'm having 🤔
Here's my other specs for reference:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: RTX 3070-Ti
RAM: 64GB DDR5 @ 6000Mhz
SSD: Gen 4 NVMe x2
Mobo: Asus B650 Plus

according to the testing that hardwaredealz did they're around the same performance wise. (the 3070ti is apparently still better in ray tracing titles but has a lot less vram) but personally as a fellow 3070ti owner who feels the vram limitation quite strongly on a 1440p ultrawide i'd suggest saving up some money and then getting a 9070xt (it's quite a lot better... according to the same source it's like double as good in some titles. doesnt matter if ray tracing or not)

The VRAM limitations are definitely killing me with the heavily modded games for sure, it's becoming a bigger and bigger issue and I'm not really wanting to cut down on the number of graphical mods I'm using. I'll take a look at the 9070XT, it looks like it's a beast and could fix the issues I'm having!

you dont even need heavily modded games to max out the vram... just play no mans sky at 1440p and you'll easily use 10GB out of your 8GB of vram. Btw i'm currently saving up some money for a XFX RX 9070xt mercury because i'm at a point where i dont wanna deal with stutters, blurry not fully loaded textures and stuff. The 3070ti was a good card when it released (and it still is for 1080p) but the lack of vram makes it a bit meh nowerdays.

I would either get a 9070 XT or 5070 Ti (or better), or wait for next gen.
Anything less than those is not worth the money imo. Unless you're actually experiencing VRAM issues.

Thank you! I'm definitely having some VRAM issues with texture swapping and even encoder overloads with OBS when I'm playing FiveM. Obviously adjusting the texture budget fixes that quite a bit but it just ends up sacrificing fidelity. I hadn't thought about the 5070Ti option actually, the 5070 only has 12GB and my fear is that I'll just end up in the same scenario in a couple years

The performance of the 3070ti and 9060xt is the same, you'd just be upgrading for the extra vram.
5070 or 9070 would be much better choices.

Thank you! I'll take a look at both of those! I was looking at the 5070 but with the amount of mods I use in my games my fear is upgrading to 12GB of VRAM and immediately using that up too. I usually fall into the whole "download a game and mod it until it's unrecognizable" spiral 🤣

Depends on your budget and expectation. If you're looking for a performance jump, nothing happening for you, the extra vram is great, but ultimately when you upgrade, you should at least aim for like 30-50% jump. I would lean more into a RTX 5070.. it has 12gb vram but the cores itself are quite fast and you remain on the nvidia software stack. If budget allows, maybe even sell your rtx 3070ti, you could try for a 5070ti or 5080 depending on your region and pricing obviously. But I would not go for an 9060 xt 16gb, it ain't worth it in my opinion
