Yes, that's my dream, I want to visit all the British colonial islands in the world, especially the tropical ones. I'm 21 and have no seafaring experience. Where can I start?

I think you have an over romanticized view of sailing if you're doing it to feel like an EIC captain.

Start in small boats. Find your local sailing club, book an RYA level 1 & 2 course. If you enjoy it, book your level 3. Then you can start gaining experience by sailing every weekend with the local club. You'll need a lot of time on the water to get started.

Apparently being in the hantavirus cruise ship is the key to visit all those islands.

The cook islands are not and were not a colony of Britain

Cook names come for James cook?
wanderinggoat@reddit
Yes he is the first European person to discover the islands
America is named after an Italian , it's just a name

Start off by giving these places names. Then mark them out on a map. Then figure out how to get there

Start by gaining some experience

How
yottyboy@reddit
Go crew with people on their boats. It’s as easy as being taken up by the press gang
Agreeable-Spot-7376@reddit
Join the navy.
Datboy000@reddit
You won't gain sailing experience, but general navigation you can learn in navy land if you strike the right rate

He wants to visit islands colonized by Britain. Joining the Royal Navy is probably the cheapest way to do that.
Datboy000@reddit
I dont know if the royal navy still sails there. But they may, I simply dont know why they would sail to those islands anymore

Find a sailing club near you

You can start by sailing small dinghies and starting to save up for early retirement.

How much I need for retiement
Datboy000@reddit
That's a question for a different sub. There are calculators online, but a good remote job will also work for sailing the seas. Just need internet
