There are proprietary models that beat all of the open weight models. Does it mean that there's no reason for open weight models to exist? And if so, what are you doing in this community related to open weight models for local deployment?

ERNIE-5/5.1 aren't open-weight, and this tweet mentions nothing resembling a plan for open-weight.

It's been more than 6 months that they released multiple models together. I think soon they gonna repeat that.

I think what they tried to tell you is that we all live on wishful thinking here, but it's worth posting about it only when our wishes finally come true. This is local llama community where the real excitement lies on the open source and open weight front. If your next post will be about ERNIE 5+ models being released as open weight models, I'm sure your karma will start thriving again.

Got it.

Haven't seen any of their models on the major inference providers yet. But if they do release open weights... the more the merrier!
