An upholster shop can fix that. It’s not hard but not easy for a beginner.
Look up pleather repair and you’ll see why

As someone who watched a YouTube video and attempted this with an Amazon kit. Agreed. Have an upholstery shop make it disappear for $100.

I dunno if this is useful, but a VERY quick and cheap upgrade for the Cherokee XJ is leather seats from a Grand Cherokee. They bolt straight up to your XJ bases and they're very very comfy and plush. Good leather too.

All car dealerships have a person who does nothing but repair vinyl and leather.
It might require some leg work but, you will eventually find one that will give you a name and number.
Repairs are quick, you will never see it again and usually, they are reasonably priced.
I had a hole in a leather Mazda seat. Dude fixed it in 20 minutes for a $100.

Quick fix? Duct tape.
Slightly less quick? Seat covers.
Slow? Reupholstery or replacement, whichever is cheaper.
Leather de-cracker does exist, you can find it at any home depot next to the board stretchers.
Are you saying you put BMW seats in a jeep XJ? Or a jaguar XJ? Either way, can we see?

I forgot the Jaguar XJ exists! It is going into a Jeep XJ. Building brackets this weekend. Will definitely post pics when I am done.

The sell adhesive backed vinyl leather rolls you can stick on. I did that as a temp fix for a set of seats I got for my car. I plan to reupholster them eventually but this has held up ok
