Xena in her way to follower of Eli

I’m watching Xena from start no skips. Saw the episode of her saving the boy from his brothers from being falsely sacrificed, but God stops it and at the end she has an understanding of One God. She then teams with Autolycus and both try to steal a chest which is said to contain the most powerful weapon on earth, Xena says don’t run from it face it! But one man runs and is burned alive. She then opens the chest and it’s the ark containing the Ten Commandments “though shall not steal” and Autylocusa scoffs “who can live by those commandments?!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Xena however has an understanding and she was trying to steal this back for someone but I’m not sure who. I assume it’s the people she mentions who saved and healed her and died protecting her.
Not to mention the quick run in with Joseph and Mary (I know timeline is wild) but her love and respect for Eli
In a weird way, it’s her growing faith in this One God of the Israelites that allows her to trust and allow Gabby to go and wander off with the One God priest which turns out to be Dahak!! What a set up!!!!!! I think Warlord Xena wouldn’t have been able to register or accept or feel the light of Eli or One God. I think she was definitely under Aries command as she was serving him as a god. This show is very interesting and definitely takes you on a whole ride mind and soul

There’s no rules in Xena. That’s why it’s awesome. 😎

Haha I love this!! It’s truth! I know some people don’t think kindly considering it’s a sword and sorcery Greek mythos based fantasy show I personally love how all rules are broken!! And I think people miss the bigger picture considering all the mixing of religions and moments add to the story

In a unpopular opinion the show went to crap because they started pushing the christian bs. Want to explore other religions fine. Want to explore other civilizations great. Do it respectfully. They just started pulling historical references from All over the place. The truth is Rome was not a thing when Hercules was around. As Xena started as a character in Hercules there is no way Rome was a thing. When they started doing that just like Hercules did I stopped watching.

Chin Greece and Rome just a few blocks away from one another 🤣 I felt the Christian aspects were mostly in the first seasons and it made a great set up to introduce Dahak as one had gotten familiar and comfortable with One God of the Israelites and damn I was blindsided by the priests

Hercules is set in the Greek time of heroes. The Greek age of heroes is said to be from 1600 bce to 1100 bce. Rome was founded in 750 bc. Julius Cesar was born 100 bce. The show went full garbage when it pulled that crap.

It’s time for Xena to accept the one true god in her life, not like all the other phonies, and that god is Gabrielle!
After all, why wear knee guards if you’re not going to spend a lot of time on your knees at the altar of Gabrielle?

Probably cause 64% of the series is Gabby getting into trouble 🤣
Agent8699@reddit
I think she just does that to give her supplicant Xena a sense of purpose 🤣

From the beginning, Gabs followed her heart and pretty much circumnavigated Xena whenever so motivated. Xena may have respected some quality of various gods, but the only one I saw her actually listen to and expect to help her was Khrishna.

This is beautiful and also Gabby always followed good and light in the world

Xena is not in fact growing into the religion that comes after. She is a person who is learning to be good. She didn't need religion to do that nor did Gabrielle. They're showing that the good exists despite whatever diety someone worships or doesn't. You don't need to be a worshipper of a specific system to be respectful of others who believe differently

As a lover of Xena, REH, HOLC, Greek mythos, Hindu culture, Asian cultures, and the Bible, I’m loving the mixes of these! It was so crazy when it came to deity worship, the fear the Greek gods had of both Dahak and of One God, even Aries saying “I’ll deal with HIM, later” 🤣🤣🤣
Seeing how it is believed worshipping a certain deity eliminates another deity from a proximity I always found it how Xena was within the Aries sphere and she was breaking away almost from his spell learning to be good and finding love in goodness no matter what religion. Love how she always gathered the light from other religions
Namely from the Bible she seemed to respect it and see the goodness in it despite the constant evil done in its name

Assez d'accord et je crois qu'on a tous été surpris comme Xena de voir que celui qui s'est révélé être Dahak n'était pas le Dieu des israélites...

To this day, the idea of Dahak still haunts me. I refuse to have “in my darkest lowest moments” in my life to never allow something like Dahak to take over specially seeing how he manipulated so many in their darkest hours.
