Advice on whether to call GP for results? — they said they would and haven’t

Don’t call at 8am, the staff will likely not give out results if you call at that time. They won’t have training again tomorrow.
Also, as a general rule, no contact means no action needed—though sometimes this goes wrong, I once had a urine culture done, the result was negative, we expected it to be negative, but it was a “check this before referring for ultrasound on a suspected kidney stone” situation. I had to chase that one.
Have you got the NHS app? If they aren’t on there then they aren’t available for a receptionist to give them to you.

The thing is, the GP emailed me and told me my results were ready and to contact the surgery. I called and over the phone they were the ones to tell me I’d be called back to tomorrow. Not even that I’d receive the results then, they said I’d find out in a follow up appointment they were booking for it which was what the call was about.
My NHS app permissions are kinda not working, I filled out an online access form last week but when I queried over the phone, the receptionist told me my results wouldn’t be on there until I got told them in the appointment, which maybe he didn’t know what he was talking about but.

Call at 8am.
You could also try the NHS app because that should show your test results (but without context may be more concerning than they might actually be).

Some GPs don’t give you access - mine doesn’t let you see test results. TBH I can see why - so easy to panic yourself with them

Answer! Thank you! Yeah I tried with the NHS app but I asked on the phone on Monday and he said they wouldn’t be on there until I got told them it might just be my GP that works that way

I got told they’d call me, but they never did, so I called next morning and booked an appointment to discuss results with GP.
Perfectly fine to call and ask, and if an appointment with GP is not needed the receptionist can give you your results, too.

Thank you! I’ll definitely call in the morning and just see because it doesn’t hurt to ask like you said:)

Yeah! When I phoned GP I just said that I was waiting for a call about my results and never got one. And they sorted it out no problem!

You could ask about having access to your results and other parts of your record through the NAHS
