Lower_Preparation_83@reddit
Most of the soviet criticism of the US was on point, no matter if you're a tankie or not.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Freedom and democracy really were a mistake
Psychotrip@reddit
Lol because we have so many freedoms and such democratic control over our leaders.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Compared to the Soviet Union ? Absolutely
Psychotrip@reddit
If you need to compare the modern US to last-century Satlinism to make your point about us being better off then you've already proven the point.
Meanwhile poverty is exploding, wealth gap is increasing, everything's more expensive, we fund children exploding overseas, we get no healthcare, everyone is depressed and listless, shootings in the streets every other week.
But sure, we're better off than a decades-dead country that had just pulled itself out of medieval times only to get stuck with a paranoid dictator dictator.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Show me a country where that’s NOT happening
Besides Israel
Psychotrip@reddit
Show you a country where people have healthcare...?
As for the others, its a matter of degrees. Look up the happiness index for different countries.
At least 13 countries saw their relative poverty rate drop over the past few years, including Turkiye, and Mexico.
Now obviously these countries are poorer than the US but you asked for places where the wealth gap wasnt widening and there you go.
JustChillin3456@reddit
America actually does have healthcare (the best healthcare) and we do give it to our poorest populations through Medicaid.
“Happiness index” yes I also think it’s funny that Americans are unhappier than dirt poor Mexicans who are brutalized by cartels
America has also gotten richer , every state is now richer than the UK
Psychotrip@reddit
Best healthcare no one can afford.
Also, prove it.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Google the country with the longest cancer survival rate / country that develops and patents the latest and greatest medical tech. We also pay doctors the most money in the world incentivizing competition
Our mortality rate is tied to obesity but thankfully Ozempic will fix that
Psychotrip@reddit
So we have long cancer survivability. Thats one thing. We have great tech. That most of us cant afford and wont affect us.
You havent proven anything. I'm pretty sure Americans have worse healthcare outcomes than other developed countries, but I could be wrong.
You havent proven anything, with or without citations.
JustChillin3456@reddit
“One thing” Literally the toughest nut for doctors to crack
“Great tech” literally the innovation that the entire world uses to save lives
“Can’t afford” Apply for Medicaid
“Paying doctors” again , understand why the worlds best doctors choose America over any other country
“Outcomes” I already explained that was due to obesity rates leading to high mortality
I don’t have to prove anything to anyone , my country’s healthcare speaks for itself
Psychotrip@reddit
"Cant afford apply for medicaid".
You are not a serious person.
Google: american healthcare outcomes compared to other countries and see actual studies proving you wrong definitively.
JustChillin3456@reddit

More "American Exceptionalism" by this American. Nothing to see here, move along.
Jedi-Guy@reddit
"American Exceptionalism" = Americans thinking anything good or bad they've do or will do is new under the sun.
Strange_Lab_283@reddit
this guy is just an idiot, the poverty rate in the US is near record lows, wages are outpacing inflation, the US has healthcare, "everyone is depressed and listless" is just saying things with no basis in reality, and gun deaths are on a down trend. he's blinded by reddit takes and totally detached from the real world
Strange_Lab_283@reddit
you have to be at least 13 to use reddit, buddy
inzyte@reddit
Doomer detected
Psychotrip@reddit
Not even close. I'm very optimistic in general, just not in the US's political and economic systems.
iBluntly@reddit
Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
JustChillin3456@reddit
He just said Soviet criticism of as on point. Everything worth criticizing is caused by democracy / freedom
Psychotrip@reddit
I dont think child trafficking is an inevitable result of democracy. The problem is mostly our economic system enabling the worst urges of the worst people.
JustChillin3456@reddit
I wasn’t talking about the child trafficking. I’m talking about literally any other criticism the Soviets had
If the freedom to acquire as much as you want leads to the worst urges in people. Then I stand by my point of freedom being a mistake
Psychotrip@reddit
I think you're pidgeon holing the concept of freedom intona western capitalist mindset. Freedom can be expressed in numerous ways, including the freedom to vote for people who will plan and maintain the economy as opposed to letting a bunch of billionaire rapist pedophiles hoard our nation's collective resources.
Freedom can be democratic control over your place of work and the means of production.
The mistakes of the US and western democracy does not invalidate freedom as a concept.
JustChillin3456@reddit
How about instead of allowing the freedom of ignorant unemployed losers sway our elections
We have some form of standards when it comes to voting . This way we DONT elect pedos
Freedom for the sake of freedom is like progress for the sake of progress
It leads to misery
Psychotrip@reddit
We dont elect most of the pedos. They're running our businesses. Taking away the vote from the unemployed won't change that.
JustChillin3456@reddit
If democracy can’t get the pedos out of power WTF is it good for ?
What were the Weimar conditions in Germany and how did they help Hitler get elected ?
Psychotrip@reddit
We dont have a democracy over the means of production or the businesses.
As for the pedos in office, this is a result of lobbying being more important than electorialism.
In other words, its a result of democracy not functioning.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Having the masses/ government control your business is actually NOT freedom. It’s the opposite
It’s literally impossible to abolish lobbying. Lobbying and politics go hand in hand
No nation in the history of humanity has been more democratic
Psychotrip@reddit
This is like saying having elected politicians is the opposite of freedom. You're speaking nonsense.
Being able to democratically control the means of production is simply another kind of freedom. Like we already discussed freedom can be expressed in many ways, good and bad.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Dude more governmental control = less freedom (literally why libertarians exist)
There’s a difference between a worker getting a say / share of a company and a random stranger who doesn’t give af about me or my business telling me how to operate it
And my original Point is that the Soviets criticized the bad parts of freedom and they were right
Psychotrip@reddit
You think individual freedom is the only freedom that exists. Thats your problem. You think there's only one type of freedom.
I believe in democratic freedoms, collective freedoms that allow a society to for the benefit of the masses.
JustChillin3456@reddit
“Freedom is whatever I say it is!” Yea yea and war is actually peace
Bro just go live in China they would love your ideology
inzyte@reddit
As opposed to only the people in power having the freedom to act on their worst urges through other systems? Human nature is human nature. You can't govern that but you can even the field. Id take freedom with bad people vs no freedom with bad people
Psychotrip@reddit
Human nature is determined by the material conditions that surround us. We are not inherently cruel at scale. There will always be bad people, but humans as a whole are a social species heavily influenced by the conditions that surround us and the systems we put in place.
The idea that large scale human misery is inevitable and a result of our inherent nature is a myth designed to make you think progress is hopeless.
iBluntly@reddit
An overwhelming majority of our species' history keks mightily at these words.
The inherent nature of our species has so far been mostly garbage, with some occasional good, and some ocassional awful.
Psychotrip@reddit
So I guess its all just pointless, yeah? Be a doomer I suppose.
Nah. I'll keep believing our nature is a result of our material conditions, and that as those conditions change, so too will human nature. All of civilization is just a fraction of our species history.
War and wealth disparity are brand new phenomenons on the grand scale of human development, and a result of the material conditions we created for ourselves when we changed to a sedentary lifestyle and socially stratified.
Before civilization, even hunter-gatherers took care of their sick and disabled the best they could.
This isn't a message to "return to monke", but a reminder that our current civilizational state and the problems that come with them are not our "natural" state or indicative of an inherent cruetly in humanity.
In the grand scheme of things, we just started civilization yesterday, and it came with a ton of glitches that have altered our nature due to the material conditions and incentive structures our ancestors ignorantly built for us with no way of knowing the long-term consequences.
iBluntly@reddit
I mean if you want to read the tea leaves of my two sentences and conclude that i'm saying "it's pointless" then go right ahead, boss.
Those of us who are cool to each other will keep being cool, as they have been since time immemorial.
But I'm not enough of a youthful maximalist to just drop words like "Before civilization, even hunter-gatherers took care of their sick and disabled the best they could", since they so lovingly gloss over what those hunter-gatherers usually did to the hunter-gatherers of neighboring groups.
thunderdragonite@reddit
Democracy isn’t real. It is just a veil for oligarchy. People are easily manipulated by the elites and media.
hh26@reddit
Better than media and elites just doing whatever they want without having to manipulate people. Having to look good provides more friction and difficulty the more nasty they are, so it provides a weak but meaningful counter force compared to the alternative.
thunderdragonite@reddit
LOL. The Epstein files were proven real and they just won’t release and arrest the criminals implicated.
and you still posted this crap.
We need a dictator to actually provide a check to the elites. If they get out of line they get disappeared like in China. Or get castor oil poured down their throats.
Shot_Faithlessness89@reddit
It's isn't democracy nor freedom. It's unchecked capitalism and corruption. Even if you hate freedom and democracy which I don't get how. What's your alternative? Like... they all are horrible. Might as well strive for the best especially when it's not even is the issue.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Unchecked capitalism is literally the end goal of freedom
Some kind of nationalism combined with socialism would be the very best system
Shot_Faithlessness89@reddit
Nationalism? Are you sure about that? Not to mention how there are many well kept countries (see Nordics), for me nationalism is basically a pipeline to fascism and war. It isn't a peaceful thing persay.
JustChillin3456@reddit
Nordic country’s models work when they’re a high trust society made up of the same race
Lack of nationalism is the reason why rootless parasites exploit Americans then abandon ship when they make enough money
Shot_Faithlessness89@reddit
I don't think nationalism would help that. Could you bring up any good examples of what would you consider a good country for this argument?
BanzaiKen@reddit
PrivilegeCheckmate@reddit
We couldn't even listen to them about political parties. It's on us.
President-Lonestar@reddit
It’s easy to criticize something when it’s out in the open. America was and still is far more honest about its faults than the USSR/Russia or China ever were/are.
jjballlz@reddit
That's only true if Americans all agree on the countless genocides, ethnic cleansings and dictators backed since the end of WWII, all in the name of capitalist exploitation of the developing world by American companies.
All this is "out in the open" in declassified CIA docs, so why don't (didn't? I'm not American) Americans accept these as facts?
laec300191@reddit
You gotta understand Americans are the most brainwashed of the bunch. If they believe lies about themselves (best country in the world, best economic system, best this and best that....) how do you expect them not to believe lies about others.
Bum_King@reddit
If we weren’t the best, you wouldn’t be consuming our media and news. Cope harder, third worlder.
laec300191@reddit
We consume your media and news only because you have a megaphone to spew your kosher propaganda, not because what you put out is valuable to society. But carry on, pat yourself in the back because you put out another show sexualizing children and normalizing homosexuality.
BOUKEN-BEN@reddit
You are proving his point by expecting people to assume they were just doing it for shits and giggles rather than in a proxy war with the KGB-backed opposition trying to create another bloc in the Western Hemisphere
mightystu@reddit
This is something unfortunately most people refuse to acknowledge. The US is easy to take shots at because it doesn’t hide or lie about most of this kind of stuff to nearly the degree that basically every single other country of any degree of power does.
ramm102412@reddit
Completely delusional. Kudos to the 3 letters for fully converting you lmao
SlySychoGamer@reddit
Takes one to know one.
They literally took a bunch of kids during ukraine war.
bannabananabanna@reddit
thats not the soviet union thats Russian oligarchs, someone needs to keep the baby meat supply chain going for the international elites
Kvaedi@reddit
They’re the exact same people doing what they did in either system.
Psychotrip@reddit
Is there any evidence of widespread child trafficking during the soviet union? My understanding is that it exploded after the Union fell, not before.
BOUKEN-BEN@reddit
I assume it would have been focused in the satellite states like how ol Jeff was posted up in the Virgin Islands
Tast3sLikePanda@reddit
read up on Besprizornye
1920's survey of girls under 15 living on the street has found that 88% of them engaged in prostitution, coerced and non coerced
Children from countries like Poland, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, were abducted and "Re-educated" or "Russified
Thousands have never returned to their families
For Spanish civil war and Greek civil war read up on The "Pedomazoma" and The "Niños de Rusia" respectively
Children from those are mostly unnacounted for and the use of children for espionage, intelligence and deep-cover programs are well documented
Psychotrip@reddit
Horrifying.
What about after the Soviet Union fell? Did it increase or decrease? Stay the same?
SlySychoGamer@reddit
Not to mention the KGB head under stalin was a notorious pervert rapist who raped kids and women for fun just cause he could
ninja2126@reddit
So notorious in fact, Stalin told his daughter to never be in a room alone with him
shiftlessPagan@reddit
And when he heard that his daughter and Beria were in the same building, iirc, he sent the Army to go "check up" on things. Only to find the two on opposite ends of the building.
Tast3sLikePanda@reddit
Thats Lavrentiy Beria
cat__weasel@reddit
There was a time I would have disagreed. They were innocent times.
Tast3sLikePanda@reddit
Ok, Soviets took a bunch of slavic kinds during the interwar and postwar period from countries like Poland and Ukraine
dont_know_y@reddit
Exact same people in power then are still in power. Putin is biggest example as hes ex-KGB, hell even their religion is compromised as the Russian Orthodox Patriarch of Moscow is also a former KGB agent. Then if you take the whole Trump is agent Krasnov thing seriously, then it adds further credance as now the KGB has ties to more modern trafficking like epstein.
Psychotrip@reddit
Do you...do you think modern Russia is still soviet?
Zuraj@reddit
Well the current leader of Russia was a soviet kgb officer who is still salty about the collapse.
Psychotrip@reddit
And you think he carries with him even a fraction of soviet ideology? Or is he a nationalist prick who wants his empire back?
Zuraj@reddit
If he had the chance he would 100% brinkg back the soviet union.
PotemkinSuplex@reddit
He is not a communist and neither is his government. They do have a communist party in Russia, but his pet party is not that one and the one that is is not that communist.
If he could click his fingers and make his country 25% larger and 2 times more populated, he probably would - who wouldn’t?, but it wouldn’t be the Union coming back, it would be something else.
Psychotrip@reddit
Thank you.
Some of these people need to read a damn book.
Psychotrip@reddit
He wants the Soviet's empire back. You think his plutocrat corpo buddies want communism back? They all made bank after the Union fell.
DreamsServedSoft@reddit
Russians certainly wish they were still Soviet
Psychotrip@reddit
I think thats actually a big point of division in Russia.
NinjakerX@reddit
Not really.
Denime@reddit
Do you think modern Russia doesn't hold itself as the soviet union by another name? They still use the same flags in parades.
PotemkinSuplex@reddit
They still use the same flags in parades, because those commemorate the union’s victory. They do fancy themselves as the successor of the union (and well officially they are) and are extremely proud of that, especially of that victory, it is still a huge propaganda topic and a point of national pride there, but they do not deem themselves to be the union by another name.
PotemkinSuplex@reddit
The Ukraine war kids situation is not about trafficking. Basically, a significant number of kids that had been left by parents in the regions now controlled by Russia(usually not by parent’s fault just in case) or had been left there in the orphanages since they had no parents. Children from the first category Russia does return with their parent’s request, children from the second category they deem their own as they do with the rest of the population of the region. Fast track naturalization and adoption process also makes it so removed relatives have hard time getting the kids back. It is not a trafficking problem as it is a “we’ve annexed your land and the population there” problem. The Ukrainian claim on their numbers also does not make sense(700k?!!!), especially since they fail to produce their actual names, but the fact that there is a program of “naturalization” of Ukrainian children organized by Russia is legit.
The former republics of the former Union had a BAD problem with trafficking and unlawful adoption during the dark time after it finally fell, including Russia.
Ok_Battle1062@reddit
Bro, "US adoptee" has been a code for "child trafficked" for 3.5 decades at this point while "they took our kids" is a "crucified Donbassian"-tier psyop.

I think the funniest part is that most nations have some parts of history that doesn’t make them look very good so every time a country accuses another country of doing horrible shit, it’s very likely both of them are guilty of doing the same thing

They were in on it too.

Soviet Union is known being one of the countries to imprison more of their population than almost any country, and they also had children in Gulags, both as prisoners and as children of the prisoners. Kind of weird thing for them to say about US in this context.
f3n1xpro@reddit
Historically US held 25% of the prisoners population...of the WORLD, been the number 1 by a large margin
So yeah, keep lying <>

When the iron curtain fell the most unhinged of right wing conspiracy theories were confirmed.
I wonder what will we find out once the nato falls
Demonweed@reddit
Mossad's top operative in the Soviet Union was Ghislaine Maxwell's father. His news organization maintained a well-staffed Moscow bureau, and he personally traveled freely between there and London. Perhaps we should be asking if she helped Jeffrey Epstein start a huge human trafficking racket or if she merely helped him gain control of one that was already functioning to corrupt senior figures in capitalism's halls of power.
Pubesauce@reddit
Chances are that Robert Maxwell and co only coordinated existing trafficking rings, but wasn't responsible for their creation. Those networks have probably existed with some degree of autonomy for far longer than we'd like to think. If I had to guess, it at the very latest started after the Barbary slave trade was eliminated and their usual supply chain of white kids was cut off.
JustChillin3456@reddit
They accuse you of what they are guilty of
