How are businesses even surviving in the US rn??

This economy is just getting worse and worse. Everything looks so expensive now in the US like payroll, rent, food, insurance, literally everything. Are businesses actually still making profit these days or is everyone just surviving month to month now?

Don’t believe everything you see on Reddit. The US is a big place. Just because it happens to some doesn’t mean it affects the entire country. For example, the only thing different for me is gas costs an extra $1 a gallon. My insurance is the same. My rent went up like $25 a month. Food costs the same.

Food definitely does not cost the same.

Well, my food costs have not gone up and I haven’t changed shopping habits. So, it’s not exactly true for everyone across the entire country.

They’ve gone up bro. You’re probably just being mindfucked but Texas government.
mlg2433@reddit
Or maybe I haven’t been directly affected yet

You have. You’re just oblivious to it because of MAGA brain

Well, a lot of businesses in my city are dropping like flies, espeically the local ones. Chains can eat the cost more easily, but all the old staples and classic places thst give cities their identities? Those will be a thing of the past in a few years.

There not.
Look at all the farms & small businesses that are closing.
There the canary in the coal mine.

A lot of companies are surviving by cutting costs aggressively, outsourcing, and raising prices where they can. Without that, many wouldn't last.

Honestly at this point a lot of businesses are just surviving by cutting fixed costs and moving everything possible to flexible setups. Anything that can be done remotely or through WFH is getting outsourced now admin, customer support, bookkeeping, even front-end roles in some cases. I've even seen setups in ny where cashier is handled remotely. IT is one of the few areas you shouldn't fully outsource due to security/ compliance, but many companies are still moving away from inhouse IT to MSPs to cut costs and simplify operations. For example, providers like Skytek Solutions handle IT remotely so businesses don't need a full internal IT team. At this point it feels like survival mode for a lot of small businesses

Does the need for goods and services cease?

The US is huge...there are millions of businesses....sure some are shutting down but plenty are pushing on.

Times being propserous does not mean no one struggles, and times being tough doesn't mean everyone is 2 months behind on rent

Let me guess this is based on vibes?
