I want to upgrade my RX 570

Thoughts on the Gtx 1660 Super? Is that the only good used card for $100 used? I need a more stable framerate for my first time 165hz 1080p monitor upgrade. Idk if I need something like a used Rx 7600 $200
Riipp3r@reddit
What is your max budget
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
$100 I think. I could pay $200 but I don't know if I need that type of performance
Whitejesus0420@reddit
I've been able to buy several 1080s for $80, if you have enough power supply that would be a decent upgrade.

bros trolling

I've kept thinking if I wanna save money or not
Admirable_Stretch809@reddit
It won't be saving you money if you have to upgrade again in a year . Spend the 200 get something more up to date it'll be a much more pleasant gaming experience for a longer period of time

I'm down to buy rx 7600 because it's decent and a bit energy efficiency but my motherboard is a320s2h and it might perform slower
Admirable_Stretch809@reddit
That's a decent card and worth the money what processor are you running if I might ask
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Ryzen 5600. but the old mobo is probably bad performance with new gpu
Born-Cow5694@reddit
I just saw where you said used. Thought you wanted a new rx7600. Thought there's no way 😂.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
My motherboard is a320s2h and I'm worried the rx 7600 will stutter or perform bad
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Oh. I'll watch a few benchmark vids real quick and probably buy that one
dsinsti@reddit
Then get an arc b580 and act like a grown up
Riipp3r@reddit
It's a mistake to base your build on 1 or 2 games that you can run "just good enough". When you inevitably get bored of those games, you'll want to play other shiny new games sometime.

IMHO, downgrading from 8GB to 6GB VRAM is going in the wrong direction.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Yes I have 4gb rx 570
OkSystem455@reddit
Then you might find the 1660 Super's 6GB a momentary upgrade but more limiting sooner than later as you get into newer games.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
I ready to pick rx 7600 but my a320 mobo is pcie 3 or something
OkSystem455@reddit
The newer PCIe 4.0 will still work in a PCIe 3.0 with nominal loss in performance.
Since you are targeting 8GB VRAM...you could start evaluating with the RX 6600 from a cost perspective...
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
On ebay where ill be buying, 6600 is almost exact same price as 7600 used
OkSystem455@reddit
Then you know your path forward. Good luck!
Enjoy your new GPU!
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Not sure if I'm being weird but I ended up ordering a RX 6600 for $180 used because the 7600 seems risky at $200 used...
OkSystem455@reddit
You have the eBay Guarantee either way...

Lol
Admirable_Stretch809@reddit
Yes it's definitely a bottleneck but I say upgrade the GPU and save up for a b450/550 it's only another 100-200 and will last you at least a few more years. How much power does your psu have? And the amd processor and GPU match will actually help your system. They make a great pair.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
CORSAIR TX-M Series TX650M. Can the 7600 run on a320 mobo for now? Then one day Mobo upgrade
Admirable_Stretch809@reddit
Yes it can run and definitely better than it's running now.
elgorbochapo@reddit
What's the rest of the rig?
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Ryzen 5600, 32gb ram and a320 motherboard
G00oner20@reddit
Brother , what did you do wiht your rx6600 ??
Confident_Health_583@reddit
What do you want to do with it? If you want to run certain modern games, you need a card that supports DirectX Ultimate. It's likely that more games will require that in the future.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
I want to run ARK: Survival Evolved smoothly in big bases, same thing with Rust, and run esports better
Confident_Health_583@reddit
The 1660 Super will suit those instances fine, but only supports DirectX 12.1. You won't be able to play some games, like Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and may be unable to play some future games. If you're fine with that, go with the 1660 Super.
SealedDisc@reddit (OP)
Me being a greedy money goblin would have been stupid. You're right I should pay more to play newer games

If it’s between those 2 I’d say the rx 7600 is the better option. If you can find the rx 7600xt version for cheap that’s an even better option.
Locke0503@reddit
100 dollars yall
imasneakybeaver@reddit
I would save up
SunMundane242@reddit
I think you should prob ge trhe rx7600 so like this you can actually get the 165fps
Locke0503@reddit
100 dollars yall
Locke0503@reddit
if you just looking for a decent GPU for 100 bucks id guess the 5700 would probably be your best bet it has about 15% better performance because amd is more budget in all honesty for fps per dollar AMD wins nvida is still pulling ahead due to Raytracing but at 1080 i highly doubt it’d be that noticeable
ThatWasEsyGG@reddit
2070 super is like 140$ used
