So many good movies he was in.
AquaValentin@reddit
Did you all forget he was in Bloodsport?
Cmaclia@reddit
ispongeyou@reddit
dj3po1@reddit
No, he was awesome in that too, but his role in Nerds is iconic. It was then and even now there’s Ogre memes that go around.
Shad0wF0x@reddit
I only know him from this movie.
I want to kill you man! Yeah you man! You got it!
handsomeape95@reddit
You break my record? Now I break you. Like I break your friend.

“You look like a Jackson”
ONROSREPUS@reddit
That was my first thought. Maybe because I seen this more than I have nerds.
VitaminStrange@reddit
Don was an interesting person. I worked at Trader Todd's for several years. Don lived down the street from me in a garden apartment. I always thought that was funny, the ogre that lives under the building. He was my direct connect to so many people in the "seven degrees of separation" game. I had many a good afternoon with Don drinking coffee and watching the Cubs lose another afternoon game. Much love to Amanda and Travis.
MicromagicFriesRIP@reddit
What was he like, personality-wise?
postoperativepain@reddit
I had seen him at Trader Todd’s a long time ago but didn’t talk to him - what was his connection? Was he part owner? I always wondered how he ended up in Chicago.
VitaminStrange@reddit
He and the owner, Todd Hyatt, were drinking buddies. I have no idea how they met. Todd would have Don come out to officiate new years eve for a bit. People always assumed Don owned the place and they didn't deny it when it came up. I was talking to one of my friends today that I met working there about Don's passing. He said his first week he came in and was told there was no food that day and probably not for the next few days because the kitchen was fucked. Turned out that Todd and Don had scored a bottle of absinthe the night before and they tried cooking. They set off the chemical retardant and covered the kitchen in powder which needed to be professionally cleaned.
FlightExtension8825@reddit
seven degrees? is there a double Kevin Bacon?
VitaminStrange@reddit
I have an unhealthy fixation with prime numbers. I rounded up to the nearest.
Ivotedforher@reddit
Upvote for Cubs losses and to tribute Don.
squirtloaf@reddit
...and with this, the last of the Gibb brothers has passed. RIP.

Oh, Ogre.
One of the things I think about most is how many people we are going to lose in the next 10-20 years. Just an avalanche of loss from the collective fabric of our lives and histories. It's not even just the big names we'll lose. But all of the supporting faces who were part of everything we grew up with. So heavy.
-Ernie@reddit
It’s every 10-20 years, you’re just focusing on your generation.
GoldenMonkeyRedux@reddit
The difference is that we were the first generation to have cable tv and to be constantly bombarded with pop culture. It existed previously, but one had to seek it out.
Subsequent generations grew up used to 40 tv channels. I had one until I was in high school. I remember damn near everything I watched. We went from 10 to 75 practically overnight in our most formative years.
-Ernie@reddit
Oops, I didn’t realize I was in the GenX sub when I made the comment, it literally is about our generation, lol.
AbsolutesDealer@reddit
There’s that word again… heavy.

DynamiteWitLaserBeam@reddit
Well except for that one guy. He had long hair, and some wild ideas, and he didn't always do what other people thought was right. And that man's name was... I forget. But the point is... I forget that, too. You know who I'm talking about. He used to drive that blue car.
AbbeyRoad75@reddit
We don’t talk about that.

See you in the next life, Ogre
WhatsUpSteve@reddit
He had one of the better redemption arcs in the Revenge of the Nerds trilogy after Stan Gable.
RIP Donald.
Haunt_Fox@reddit
Til there was a third Nerds movie.
I did like the second one, maybe even more than the first one.
Due-Leek-8307@reddit
Did you know there was a 4th that revolves around Booger getting married and his soon to be father in law hating nerds?
Haunt_Fox@reddit
lol, no. Watching the third one now.
Lost_Though@reddit
Now he is beating up nerds in heaven

DaGoodBoy@reddit
I met him when he was filming They Still Call Me Bruce back in Houston in 1987. I was an extra in the crowd when he came on set. We all chanted "Ogre, Ogre" and he mugged for us with a laugh. Good times.
GaryNOVA@reddit
RIP Tiny from r/Cheers . You will be missed.
phunkmunkie@reddit
How’s the pie?
Uh-oh..
Think_Selection9571@reddit
That sucks. I met him at a convention some years ago and he seemed like a genuinely nice person. Booger on the other hand was an asshole
JoeNoble1973@reddit
Booger turned into a true THESPIAN in the interim; from frat gross-out to august presence of the stage, far above us teeming peasants. At least it seems so
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
He looks like a Jackson to me.

It was a really mean time but there was nobody coming for us. Now things have swung so far the other way.
ComprehensiveShip720@reddit
Yes and no. There are still bullies at school but also more attention paid to it by teachers.
Ok-Passenger6552@reddit
Which is mostly a good thing. But as my kids have often pointed out, any situation in which kids don't get along or agree, or in which someone doesn't get their is now called "bullying" ...which is insanity

He should have been a frontman for a death metal band.
scorpion_71@reddit
Rest in peace. He was great in Revenge of the Nerds and he was in so many shows and films. I'm a football fan so I should probably watch the First and Ten show that he starred in.
