First time PC build for gaming and streaming. I am attempting to make a weapon to surpass Metal Gear with a budget of 4.6k.

A few things of note:
-I am hoping to have the machine last me 5-10 years without upgrading
-I want it to be capable of running CPU intensive games without issue while streaming at the same time, hence the Ryzen 9 9900X3D
-I intend to use air cooling, and space isn't an issue, hence the large case.
-I am factoring 2 monitors into the budget, though the ones listed are kinda placeholder and I would appreciate any reccomendations. Minimum 24", 240hz, 1440p.

I tested a few desks for gaming — the 2-leg ones all wobbled at standing height. Switched to a 4-column frame and it's rock solid even at 47 inches. What's your height? That changes the recommendation a lot.

I don't think the 9900X3D is it for streaming. You should be doing the encoding with your GPU, not your CPU. Unless you're doing lots of effects that run on CPU?
Are these games ones that you'd be running across both CCDs? Cuz otherwise the 9800X3D will be faster with 8 X3D cores vs the 9900X3D's 6

Unsure, I'm not really an expert on what games would need it. I've only ever worked with pre-built machines on a surface level until now.
The games in question are mostly RTS and TBS types of games though, Starcraft, Warhammer, Civ, and hopefully new entries in those series. Baldur's Gate 3 is also pretty CPU intensive, and is one I play fairly often with mods.

Honestly is a 9900x3d is overkill. You would rather enjoy a 9800x3d and you get better pedals

I'd just play it safe and get the 9800X3D instead then. I believe AMD software will keep most games on the X3D cores anyways. So you're then comparing the 8 cores on the 9800X3D versus the 6 X3D cores on the 9900X3D.
Or spend more for the 9950X3D, which also has 8 X3D cores like the 9800X3D. But still don't think you need extra cores for streaming unless you really want to do software encoding instead of GPU encoding for some reason.
Especially on CPU heavy games, I would want to do GPU encoding.

You're getting a better overall package with this while cutting ~$380 with room to cut down even further:

This guys advice is good, I would swap the noctua for a phantom spirit for another hundred and a bit off and absolutely not go above a 9850x3d and personally I would get the 9800x3d.

I appreciate the list, I'll look through it. Will definetly be getting the cheaper retailer RAM.

the 9900x3d is overkill for streaming at that budget when a 7700x would free up cash for better gpu or faster ram, but if youre set on amd the chip itself is solid
