That 20-second London street clip blowing up online had e-bikes showing up all over the video too, and I think it kinda showed how many people are craving easier, more efficient ways to get around the city.
Compared to stressful, clunky commutes, lightweight setups just make more sense for a lot of people now.
Like the masked guy in the video, a simple commuter bike with a rear bag already feels like peak urban mobility. Just hop on and go :)

They’re a just in a category of their own, not a bicycle, not a moped, and not a motorcycle. These are all great modes of transportation with different advantages and disadvantages.

It’s so baffling to be that this bothers anyone. If it has two wheels and is powered by pedals and no motor it’s a bicycle. Why would e-bikes being their own classification bother you?

lmao, you were the first one to get bothered by classifying ebikes as bicycles.. not me... if it has pedals and an assisting motor of up to 250w continuous and a throttle to max 6kph then it's a bicycle in europe.

No, it's classified as a bike in Europe as people justifiably corrected you. It depends on the amount of power the motor has and the km/h cap amount it assists. The downhill analogy by the previous commenter was perfect.

We’re talking about two different things. You’re talking about how e-bikes are classified for use, and you’re correct as they’re classified as a bicycle for use. I’m saying that a bicycle has pedals and no motor, while an e-bike has both.

And yes, an emoto is a bicycle if it has pedals. If you add a rocket or a nuclear propulsion system to something that has 2 wheels, handlebars and pedals, it's a bicycle.

A “Bike” is a two-wheeled mode of transportation, including bicycles, e-bikes, motor bikes, dirt bikes, mopeds, etc. A bicycle has pedals with no motor, an e-bike has pedals plus an electric motor.
