Ok but how is the face somehow simultaneously behind and in front of the gun. I call shenanigans
P00R-TAST3@reddit
Thier cheek is pressed against the carry handle, how is that not obvious lmao?
highvelocitypeasoup@reddit
Nah its on a different focal plane, forward of the carry handle.

Probably a dude with a female face filter
Nisos_333@reddit
Isn't the front sight backwards?
Wankel_8@reddit
For aerodynamics, I guess.
ecodick@reddit
And I know it probably doesn't matter here, but the carry handle bridging the receiver and handguard is frustrating

What constitutes an AR-15 clone when it's a platform that every company dabbles in atp
bobbobersin@reddit
I think they mean they make their own clones of the lower and upper possibly and then slap on whatever they can buy or make, not so much a clone as in “clone correct version of xyz build” but “cloned the basic design of the platform”

Wild to see the development of their underground arms manufacturing there. A few years ago it was FGC9's, single shot rifles and sand casted SMG's. Now theyre able to manufacture AR & AK copies
CaliRecluse@reddit
The Kachin Independence Army and United Wa State Army made both Type 56 and Type 81 clones before the FGC-9 was a thing. Though in that respect, having relations and a border with China probably helps.

How did the rebels get the tools to make AR-15s?
pplovr@reddit
It's from imports from the absolutly huge smuggling rings in China, India, South America and Pakistan. Supplemented with 3d printing parts and attachments online using funds procured from the mobile gaming industry. (yes, many Burmese forces make online mobile games to funnel money into buying western arms, it's more reliable, gives a better public image and prevents the militia from falling into becoming a cartel like FARC, the UVF and IRA did)
It also helps that the AR is one of the most commercially successful guns on earth, highly modifiable, reliable and uses NATO ammo which is easily obtained compared to the more regularated cartridges used by national forces across Asia.

Im surpised at the gaming part.
pplovr@reddit
Mobile gaming is a huge, exploitable and legal industry. Millions is made on the Asian mobile gaming market alone. Everybody has a phone, so everybody is the market and potential consumer.
Not to mention, a successful mobile development industry is far less harmful than a successful narcotics industry and gives jobs. So if your militia wins, you have an avenue into a very prosperous economy.

On another note, the Burmese Army uses 5.56 and 7.62 NATO as standard infantry rounds, but the former is higher pressure than most other 5.56; it causes jams in both the Galil clones and ARs.
Some of the 3D-printed rifles the PDF rebels made are supposed to take both types of 5.56 with less jams. Also, 3D-printed mags are used.
