It's ironic. I thought it would take a few years and then EU truck drivers would see more companies pushing driver facing cams upon us.
Now it seems it's not the trucking companies but the EU itself that is forcing this.
Of course, it's now a tiny step for trucking companies to install a second camera that they can do with as they please. Legally they can't do that. But in reality I know most drivers just shrug their shoulders and accept everything.
At least in the US good drivers can make 100k. Here the max is around 20,- per hour. Before taxes!
Had a guy ask me to come show him what switch was for the lockers and asked what a few others were. had 2 suction cups on the air gauges and his phone on there. I said those are pretty important and he said there's a red light of it gets low
Sometimes in moments like that I wish I had my phone in my hand 24/7 to snap the picture but I set it down to come help the guy and mostly wanted a reason to put it down for 5 minutes
considering the rate i see "drivers" outright staring at their phones today vs the amount of drivers north of 40 y/o, the vegas odds say driver error, whether by way of phone, sleep deprivation or intoxication
Starting June 6th in PA it will be illegal to have your phone in your hand in your car at all, even when stopped at red light, or stuck in traffic & not moving.
The reason why I said what I said, is because it’s going to start with a $50 fine, but I’m going to assume nobody is going to follow the law, which will force them to escalate penalties. I’d assume this will be a felony offense within a few years.
For CDL holders it’s worse already. Every time you’re caught with your phone in your hand, it’s a non-sanction violation. Doesn’t carry points, but will show up on your MVR. Any CDL driver violating the law who gets into an accident resulting in death gets an automatic 5 years in jail, regardless of fault.

I'm going to guess flip flops were worn and YouTube on a phone was playing on the gauge cluster.

Distracted driving.
Fli_fo@reddit
Probably, or a heart attack. let's wait for the investigation.

Driver was charged, if it was a medical condition then the news reporter would have said that.

Yes, the chances are high that you are right
Cann1balHulk@reddit
Welp, if every state goes the way PA is going come June, there will either be A: way less distracted drivers, B: way less truck drivers

Good.
Cell phones are a distraction we don’t need on the road. They make the road less safe for everyone.

Don’t really know on the road but in NYC there are always multiple devices mounted in front of the drivers
