Dang it! They are really trying to prey on our nostalgia!

I will admit the pitcher was really calling to me!
Elandycamino@reddit
Don't fall for it in this economy. Its garage sale season.
DanicaDarkhand@reddit (OP)
Yes! I have found the best things at yard sales.
Effective-Sherbet655@reddit
To really be nostalgic, it needs to be brown or orange.
Doctor_Tyrell@reddit
No love for Avacado?
Haunting-Public-23@reddit
TBH I'd encourage everyone to buy into commercial/industrial/kitchen-grade equipment like https://www.cambro.com/ instead.
Effective-Sherbet655@reddit
Oh we had Tupperware in the whole 70s/80s color scheme: brown, orange, avocado, and yellow. Plus my grandma had an avocado refrigerator and oven!
eJunkies@reddit
We did, too. Some of us kids still have a few pieces.
trashpanda6798@reddit
Hell yeah, our entire kitchen was brown and yellow, with the matching linoleum šš¤®
eJunkies@reddit
Lol! Our kitchen wallpaper was brown with white polka dots and orange 5-petal flower shapes outlined in white. Our appliances were avocado. š³ I still have my mom's avocado kitchen aid mixer though š¤
bendybiznatch@reddit
I still have one. Used it for dinner tonight.
Doctor_Tyrell@reddit
ALL the earth tones. Nice!
zombie_overlord@reddit
I have a set, passed down from grandma. Orange, yellow, avocado. I don't have a brown one, but I'm sure they made them.
Astrazigniferi@reddit
Definitely the avocado in our house.
stuntycunty@reddit
With spaghetti sauce stains.
BurghEBurg@reddit
Still got it.
sorrymizzjackson@reddit
Oh donāt worry, they sell those brand new on Amazon. Seriously. Itās called the retro set.
If I wasnāt trying to actually reduce the amount of random kitchen junk I have, Iād already have them.
Negative-Wrap95@reddit
Or that sickly cream color.
PearlHarbor_420@reddit
And not a nice tan or khaki brown or bright orange, but a burnt orange and a Crayola brown.
EfficiencyNew2872@reddit
Too true
sneakacat@reddit
I need everything in a clear container or it will cease to exist to my eyes.
Ingonyama70@reddit
It has to be brown with that ugly cream covered lid to REALLY grab ne
Nuker-79@reddit
TK Maxx?
violetstrainj@reddit
That gives me an idea to put a pop-up booth at a Farmerās Market called āVBS 1987ā and sell cherry cool-aid and chocolate chip cookies out of those containers, and hand out little stones painted like rabbits, sheep and owls.
Both-Artichoke5117@reddit
In my Grandmaās house, the brown pitcher was always sweet tea and the orange one was either lemonade or koolaid. She never had the yellow or green ones.
Battle-Any@reddit
My grandma had all 4. Brown was ice tea, orange was orange juice, green was Kool-Aid, and yellow was water. And heaven help you if you left the yellow pitcher empty.
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
I mean, itās not this..
AggravatingWalk6837@reddit
My grandma still has thisā¦
Astrazigniferi@reddit
I took this set to college with me after it spent a few years out in the camp trailer. Good times.
Tedanki@reddit
Peak grandma's house vibes. My nonna had not only this dish set, but the Tupperware pitcher too. That pitcher IS summer.
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
Thatās not my photo, but we still have and use the same set daily. Yeah I know, leaded patterns and all.
SlackerDS5@reddit
If they made a bento box style container, Iād be down. None of those meet my aesthetics. Nostalgia canāt to that.
Cube-in-B@reddit
These color choices are terrible though
Negative-Wrap95@reddit
Hmmm, if they're really on it there's a pike bowl in that collection.
Relevant-Bit-7394@reddit
I can hear the frozen oj sliding out of can and the plop of it hitting the bottom.Ā
MommaOfManyCats@reddit
I was shocked at the price for the full set! Stupid Amazon ad on Instagram.
rnotyalc@reddit
If it's not bleeding carcinogens into all of your food, is it really Tupperware?
sdavidson0819@reddit
I remember the brown one at my parent's house. I rehydrated many cans of frozen orange juice concentrate in that thing.
34thUsernameAttempt@reddit
I did find the ubiquitous yellow strainer in an antique store a few years back. About 8 bucks later, it followed me out the door.
34thUsernameAttempt@reddit
I did have to explain it to my oldest daughter as to why I was excited over the strainer. She kinda got an idea. I basically got for the nostalgic novelty of it. A reminder of a simpler time seen through the childhood lenses from an 80s kid.
Trashbagok@reddit
Private equity Tupperware preying on your nostalgia.
It is NOT the same. Not even close. Don't buy into this, the company is long dead.Ā
It is stupid expensive, and you can buy just as good or better if you just must have plastic, anywhere else, for 1/10th the price.
ConsistentBasis4234@reddit
this feels like nostalgia being repackaged and sold back to people at premium prices š if Iām paying that much, it better come with actual quality, not just memories.
Stuffleapugus@reddit
It's all shit quality though. Plastic for no reason. We're adults now. Glass or metal is so much better.
DanicaDarkhand@reddit (OP)
Yes! I love using my glass Pyrex pitcher and my Corning dishes! Living in upstate New York I am lucky to find all sorts of Corning stuff 2nd hand!
Stuffleapugus@reddit
And it's glass! Nothing feels weird about 2nd hand glass. Hit is with hot water and it feels as sterile as the day it was made.
DanicaDarkhand@reddit (OP)
Yep! I have some really nice vintage Corning stuff! Glass and ceramics!
Warrior-Cook@reddit
Heritage Pitcher...heritage. It's past my bedtime.
