Is this true for all you Braum's lovers?

Maybe we can find neutral ground in our love for Braum's.
Proper_Tangerine3431@reddit
I don’t think there’s a single person in north Texas that cares where Braum’s comes from.
For the record, I love Braum’s and go there often for both burgers and ice cream.

Burger Street is good, but there aren't that many locations, and the topping choices are limited. That said, it is the only place i know of with an olive burger, and their patties are flavorful and toppings very fresh, at least based on the Trophy Club location.
DrDrankenstein@reddit
Only place I know that still sells a burger, fries and shake for under $10
Cerulean_Shadows@reddit
Burger house on Mockingbird is better than Burger Street imo. Omggg their cheese fries alone are to die for.

I knew a guy who ran wire for alarm systems at burger street. They were notorious for having rat problems. Move a ceiling tile and get covered is rat shit.
It’s been 10-15 years but I’m not about to test to see if it’s resolved. I used to love that place too
9bikes@reddit
>notorious for having rat problems
That's pretty much all restaurants.
source: I worked for a company that did background music and commercial DirecTV for all kinds of businesses. Calls for "music plays fine in some areas, doesn't work in other areas at all" was almost always caused by rats chewing speaker wires in the ceiling.

Now I love me a braums burger, but to say it’s the best fast food burger is just crazy talk. Not when there is Culver’s, Shake Shack, Freddy’s, P Terrys, In-N- Out.. Hell I think even Whataburger beats them. Even recently I found a place near me in Carrollton called Beef-a-roo that makes a fantastic burger and insanely cheap. $5.55 for a burger combo
grizlena@reddit
I just looked up beef a roo. Those pictures look good especially if it’s 5.55 for a whole as combo??!
Tiiimmmaayy@reddit
It’s an insane deal they’ve been running for a while now. Hopefully it’s a permanent thing. Figured it would be tiny portions, but the burgers and roast beef sandwich are actually pretty damn big. The only thing bad about the place has been their god awful name. Lmao took me so long to actually try it because it just sounds bad.
viagra___girls@reddit
Beef a roo is ridiculous hahahaha

Visible_Style7148@reddit
Most overrated fries in the industry. I worked there and cut them in the morning. While they are real potatoes and every one is inspected by hand for any undesirable potatoes, they are trash
Kanexan@reddit
Braums is a Perfectly Fine Hamburger. If you pictured in your mind Generic Hamburger it would look something like Braums. It is not fancy, it is not sublime, it is not in any way extraordinary, it is simply very very close to the concept of an average hamburger, which is itself an accomplishment, but certainly does not make it “the best”
However, Braums has beat every other hamburger chain in the nation with regards to the quality of its shake and ice cream. It also does hamburgers and general food wildly better than any other ice cream focused chain in the country. This is a good position to be in.
Dick_Lazer@reddit
I’ll never understand the love for Braum’s hamburgers. Their ice cream is easily well above average but any time I order a burger there I can barely finish it. I’ve tried ordering around on the menu to find some food item there I like but it all tastes terrible to me.
Huge-Acanthisitta485@reddit
This is exactly it. They have their niche and their limeades are better than most places too. You can also upgrade your drink to a shake free of charge.
JumpinJack2@reddit

orthodoxscouter@reddit

Troll_U_Softly@reddit
L take. What would you say is better? In N Out has great value with cost per taste. Shake Shack is great, but more expensive. Five Guys thinks they are a Michelin Star burger joint with those prices and the taste doesn’t justify it. Braums has great quality/taste and still comes in at a very strong price. Where is the argument against it? (Don’t even bring up WhatATrash, it doesn’t compare)
remarkable_in_argyle@reddit
I’m just now entering this discussion and would like to submit a vote for Freddie’s.
Troll_U_Softly@reddit
Ohhh Freddie’s party melt hits the spot, they are definitely deserving of a seat at the table.
grizlena@reddit
Culver’s definintly deserves a seat too.
Wafflehouseofpain@reddit
Nah, Braums really stepped up their game recently. Their burgers are way better than they used to be.
TalpaPantheraUncia@reddit
Their other food has suffered though. The fries and chicken used to be wayyyy better.
DirtySperrys@reddit

DFWTooThrowed@reddit
I just wanna know how they are somehow completely unaffected by inflation. I swear it’s like their prices were frozen in 2002.
Our total for three adults getting ice cream was around $7 when I was there a couple months ago.
DependentLoan6179@reddit
Nah, just about 5 years ago a bag of burgers was $5.55.
Tiiimmmaayy@reddit
More like 3 years ago. Moved up here in 2023 and they were $5.55. Their ice cream has not increased in price , at least their frozen yogurt. Still like $1.29 for a small swirl cone, I think. And it’s still big as hell. Made the mistake of getting a large size for like 50¢ more and It was way too much.
DependentLoan6179@reddit
Yeah I wasn't sure when they raised the price, after I moved I didn't have a chance to visit one for a few years. Thanks for the info.

This post is confusing because I thought this meme format was meant to convey something the listener LIKES hearing. But I think OP is intending the opposite reaction and now idk what to think
Tejanisima@reddit
What to think: OP is confused on multiple fronts. (1) This meme doesn't mean what they think it means and (2)(a) virtually no Braum's fans in Dallas give a shit that it's from Oklahoma, and (b) most of us already knew.
P1Day1@reddit

Braum’s is better than Whataburger.
I said what I said.
Tejanisima@reddit
Although when Whataburger discontinued their mushroom swiss burger, I tried the Braum's version and it was so godawful I nearly puked. Threw it away after a couple bites, it was so bad. I was shocked, because I've eaten their regular burgers for years and always love them.
Fit_Smile1146@reddit
I’ve lived in Dallas over 10 years, pls explain the hype? I’ve never been there. Is there something in particular I should buy.
Tejanisima@reddit
In addition to the burgers and the ice cream and the shakes, the limeade is to die for. So refreshing, so delicious.
Dick_Lazer@reddit
Braums has great ice cream, the rest of the food there is very salty and mid though. Imagine the type of food an overweight middle aged guy from Oklahoma would eat, that's Braum's. But the ice cream itself is bomb.
Ravioverlord@reddit
Been here for 5 years and I don't get the hype. I've tried it. The ice cream wasn't good and the place was gross. Maybe that is just the location I went to but I will never understand why it is such a big deal when the ice cream wasn't even at Baskin robins level. I much prefer Andy's frozen custard and will def miss it when I move back home someday.
doctorelliot@reddit
I was born in Dallas, moved to AZ at 18, still come back occasionally to see the Stars and my parents. I always go out of my way to find a Braums. On the ice cream side, their sundaes and banana splits can't be beat. I know, I've been desperately trying to find a local alternative for over a decade and no luck.
luvsads@reddit
Lived in west valley for over a decade and imo Braums is about equivalent to Lenny's. Granted, I don't think too highly of Braums food, so take that as you will. I'm a classic Valley In-n-Out fan
doctorelliot@reddit
Maybe the burgers but Lenny's isn't as good on the ice cream front, IMO.
luvsads@reddit
100% agreed
orthodoxscouter@reddit
Their burgers suck, the ice cream is good.
amaenamonesia@reddit
I don’t think anyone here would care. People are more defensive over Blue Bell
steamyglory@reddit
That was my first thought too. Blue Bell is so good I keep eating it even after they killed people with listeria. But they don’t have restaurants, so I can see why Braum’s gets the loyalty it does despite being from a dirt state.
Tejanisima@reddit
I gave them up after the listeria thing because while any company could have an outbreak, it takes some real shits to cover it up for over 2 years after it was first discovered and then not even pull a full recall when they finally do something about it. Assholes started inspecting only the equipment that didn't touch the ice cream. I'm aware that CEO is gone now, but I don't care. Blue Bell has been dead to me for 11 years, and I'm speaking as somebody who subscribed to their emails and evangelized all over the place about them.
FaBiOtHeGrEaTeSt@reddit
Not many burger spots can you get a combo with a shake for under 10 bucks. Braum’s you alright in my books!
SimpleVegetable5715@reddit
If I get a shake as my drink, I miss out on the tart asf limeade. I love that limeade!

Itchy_Lab6034@reddit

yolatrendoid@reddit
I knew Braum's was based in Oklahoma when I was 10. (In the '80s.)
No, it's really not a big deal. I know people more pissed off by In-N-Out being here than Braum's.
slimecog@reddit
for sure, like no one’s forcing anyone to eat anywhere. but for the record, in n out is pretty good too. weird thing to be mad about being here imo
Tejanisima@reddit
I will never understand people who want a hockey puck for dinner. Whataburger has declined, but it's never been as bad as that mess.
Tejanisima@reddit
Surely that's because California people went on about them for years and went In-N-Out came, it turned out their burgers suck.

hot_rod_kimble@reddit
When was it ever not slow? 😄
Deathclaw_Hunter6969@reddit
Pre 2018
Dick_Lazer@reddit
Definitely not. Whataburger has taken forever since at least the 1990s. Food quality started dropping around the early 2000s. Granted, by 2018 it was complete shit but that was a long drop.
The_DaHowie@reddit
It was better when it was slow. You had to wait because it was made fresh, to order
Whataburger was for Sunday morning after being out Saturday night. Wait in the drive-thru line and read the paper, they had a machine in the parking lot. The food was still hot after the 10 minute drive home
What a Burger began dieing well before it was acquired by private equity. The owners had to make an acquisition palatable so they began taking steps several years before they sold out

Dick_Lazer@reddit

SimpleVegetable5715@reddit
Imagine how nasty a Dairy Queen grocery store would be.
The_Erlenmeyer_Flask@reddit
No one cares. Now.. you want to really instigate people. Say that Whataburger is a Texas brand and people will remind you that they sold a sizeable chunk of itself off to BDT & MSD Partners, a private equity firm that's out of Chicago and New York and after they did that, everything has gone down hill.
Dick_Lazer@reddit
The crazy thing is that was only as far back as 2019. Whataburger had been terrible for years already before that.
ViolentSkyWizard@reddit
Don't even go anymore. It's terrible.
Thedude5078@reddit
From the wiki: In order to maintain the freshness of its products, Braum’s does not open stores outside of a 330-mile radius of the home farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma.
Ok-Winner-6803@reddit
This is the correct answer making it an eastern Oklahoma, North Texas and NW Arkansas brand. I am happy to let Oklahoma claim it as long as this brand remains as solid as it has.
Dick_Lazer@reddit
Their headquarters is in Oklahoma City, where they got their start. Why wouldn't Oklahoma claim it?

Hungry_Roll6848@reddit (OP)

Is that one old school Braums in Lewisville on I-35 still open? That's what Braums looked in in the 70's and 80's
mental_midgets@reddit
All their ice cream comes from Oklahoma too.
texatiguan@reddit
I love how they discontinued the 1/3 pound burger because people are stupid...
Current-Escaper@reddit
No one cares.
Frankly, I’m more concerned about the misuse of this meme template. Who in their right mind gets chills/cold, afraid, or excited/aroused by hearing this? I have never attributed goosebumps to any other feelings.
This rings as weird, or just a half-arsed post to me. And I think the near unanimous opinion matching my initial comment reflects as such.
Hungry_Roll6848@reddit (OP)
I think it is supposed to mean that Dallasites get scared when they realize Braum's is from Oklahoma. It seems like my assumption is correct too, since some of these comments are downright denying the meme being true 🤣
Current-Escaper@reddit
It’s clearly an arousal meme, dude, and it always has been. You’re making this weird.
I did not expect the double-down on nonsense, but by all means keep reaching.
syngyne@reddit
It’s just confusing as to why anyone would care about this. Like, what materially does this affect? Do you get a tax break for eating burgers sold by local companies or something?

RedLeg73@reddit
Don't tell the fine people of Kansas that Braum's started in okc, I'm not sure they'd be able to handle it.
BryanW94@reddit
We're blessed that braum is in Oklahoma to be in range of their dairy cow farm distribution, others in this country are not so fortunate.
TCUOilMan@reddit
Sonic is OK too, no one cares

Wait till they find out about Dairy Queen...

i live like a block away from one, always so tempting
lhfan04@reddit
Braums is a great place because you can get a combo with a milkshake for under $10. Whataburger is too expensive and mediocre for its own good. Plus, it’s convenient to get some milk and groceries at the same time.
SadAdministration438@reddit
Braums is so damn good, I am actually heading there rn after finishing my last round of finals.
jollytoes@reddit
Before a moment ago I didn’t know Braum’s was from OK and this changes things for me. I now know Braum’s is from OK.
kitfoxxxx@reddit
Idc where it’s from.

Eat ice cream and prices in the game. Makes me actually respect Oklahoma
Right_Bike_5416@reddit
I had no idea where Braum's was from until I read this post, but I'm almost positive that you didn't do this meme properly. I feel like you have this backwards lol. It would turn most Dallasites OFF if they found out it was from OK.
Hungry_Roll6848@reddit (OP)
Goosebumps are common in the event of fear. If you look at the comments, some Dallasites are downright denying that Braum's is from Oklahoma and are refusing to believe the meme.
Right_Bike_5416@reddit
Right, but that proves my point. This meme template isn't about the dude being afraid. The girl whispers something in his ear that arouses him.
If Dallasites loved stuff that was from Oklahoma, this meme would make sense.
Gothtomato@reddit
Braum’s is so peak it’s crazy
dpenton@reddit
Braum’s milk is the best. And their ice cream (and variants) are awesome too.
locobikerguy@reddit
Big deal. So is Sonic.

What about dels? I loved me some dels
Nervous-Rooster7760@reddit
Lived in DFW over 25 years. Never liked Braum’s. Burgers are not good, ice cream just okay. Milk was good but not worth special trip.
Historical-Newt@reddit
No but I was very disappointed (and unsurprised tbh) when I found out they donate heavily to maga. Blue Bell too, so I’m currently looking for a better ice cream lol
dasfoster@reddit
Braums is still around? Well that’s new info.

Quality dairy, beef, products real consistent, and the type of store is a throwback in terms of a retail section, ice cream service, and grill under one roof.
Yeah we know. Texas has been home for decades and always will be, but grew up Okie. Pump jacks. Phillips 66. JJ Cale…

Oklahoma is a land of weird extremes.
How can such a place give us a "bag of burritos" and good froyo, but be from a place where they have a state income tax and toll every single piece of road?
It's a place of pure evil and I will stand for it, siiiiiiiirrrrrrrrr

Braums = boring. I’m from Oklahoma and it don’t impress me much. So many better places for burgers and ice cream. I do, however, love their little grocery stores.
