Looking for two Jeremy Kyle episodes featuring my late best friend Lucy Pearson. Do you have them?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping somebody here may be able to help me locate two episodes of featuring my best friend Lucy Pearson, who sadly passed away in March 2021.

The episodes are:

“Inspirational Children” — aired 9th January 2006

“Make Me A Wish Come True” — aired 17th September 2007

I recently contacted ITV Archive⁠ directly, but unfortunately they told me they are unable to supply any episodes of the show due to legal reasons.

I also tried obtaining them from BoB (Box Of Broadcasts) but was not successfull.

These episodes would mean the world to Lucy’s family and friends as a way of remembering her. I’m not looking to repost or distribute them publicly — I would just really love to preserve these memories privately for the people who cared about her.

If anyone happened to record these episodes back in the day, has old Sky/VHS/DVD recordings, or knows where they may still exist, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could message me.

Have you tried contacting the production company ITV Studios directly rather than the Archive?

I know you would expect the left hand to know want the right hand is doing, but often they don’t.

I will try this but not holding hope ITV helping as they are very strict about Jeremy Kyle media being public due to what happened in 2019. That's why they completely wiped anything to do with it!

He was quite seriously ill and had fought tooth and nail to get onto the show. He had assured the production team that he was not suffering from any mental illness and even got a note from his GP stating that Dymond's mental health had improved and he was no longer taking anti-depressants.

I'm not defending the premise of the Jeremy Kyle show whatsoever. It's peak exploitative poverty porn - they used to encourage guests to appear by offering them booze ffs. But in this case I feel the producers had done their due diligence, and although the lie detector 'results' undoubtedly contributed towards Dymond's suicide, he was likely at risk regardless.

The producer of Dead Men Talking podcast, Tom, used to work on Jeremy Kyle he's on socials as deadmen Tom or similar. Could be worth reaching out to him if nothing else bears fruit.

I only have media experience from another UK major broadcaster. There is a route to request footage where you are the contributor. I would assume Lucy's parents have POA and can request this. You can't sadly make a subject access request given she is deceased. Find the dpo contact info on their privacy policy and ask for the contributor footage process. There is a fee

Ah so sorry to hear that. The search engine is awful on that site so it is difficult to find anything. You have to search for Jeremy Kyle then go through all the episodes as it won’t accept episode titles in the search bar.

To add to this , most of the episodes I've ever managed to find have come from Facebook weirdly

I don't even have Facebook but have been able to get full episodes that people have posted now and then

Another place to look would he Archive . Org

But you're solely at the whim of the poster

So expect a lot of "Jeremy Kyle full episode" with no way of knowing what episode until you download it

Or having to shift through a 7hoir recording of ITV to find the Jeremy Kyle episode in the middle of it
