I desperately want a company to make something like this in 12ga.
salem_lakes_armory@reddit
Ya because we all want the ghouls pistol ;)
LegendActual@reddit
Yes, did want it before the show though. The Russians used to make one and it’s in Escape from Tarkov.
Wunktacular@reddit
Start begging manufacturers for a Colt 1855 reproduction.

Cobray Street Sweeper?

Cool gun!
AnyProcess4064@reddit
Wouldn't your supporting arm get burned by the cylinder gap?
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
They have a shield, it works perfectly, but unless you put a stock on it that would be a terrible way to shoot.
Prior-Champion65@reddit
So if I’m understanding correctly, this is not an AOW because it’s smooth bore? Unlike a H&R handy gun that is rifled?
ArmFun4566@reddit
You have it backwards. It's just a big awkwardly shaped revolver because it has a rifled barrel. If it was smooth it would be in legal trouble possibly, though even the ATF don't take .410 seriously, it's a hobbyist cartridge.
Prior-Champion65@reddit
Thanks
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
This is from both a legal and practical perspective, it is just a really big .45 Colt that also happens to accept shot shells. In addition to being rifled it's .45 caliber and not .41 caliber, we're used to nominal caliber names but these cartridges are not examples of that.
flaxon_@reddit
So then, if one were to find or make a stock that replaces the grip, it would be an SBR not an SBS. Good to know for...reasons.
Rjsmith5@reddit
Correct: short barrel + rifled bore = SBR, even if it’s capable shooting a shot shell.
salem_lakes_armory@reddit
Except not anymore. Not since the franklin armory settlement. Or at least not nfa
redacted_robot@reddit
Just wait until someone makes it famous.
Footlover734@reddit
It’s a handgun
Prior-Champion65@reddit
What is a H&R handy gun?
Footlover734@reddit
Judge is rifled and intended to fire center fire cartridges from the manufacturer, so it’s a handgun. H&R handy gun was made with rifled and smooth bore barrels but would be an AOW because it is a shotgun by design and solely designed to fire shotgun shells, it would be SBS with stock fitted. Something else similar would be the Mossberg shockwave, which is designed to fire shotgun shells and doesn’t have a stock. Shockwave is just a firearm because it meets the OAL requirement of 26” and is not concealable. Since the judge doesn’t meet the OAL of 26”, it must be rifled and capable of firing center fire cartridges to be sold as a handgun.
perfes@reddit
I’m assuming this is more viable than the shorter judge since it patterns a lot better because of the barrel?
AgreeablePie@reddit
Depends. If you're using larger shot, like one might for home defense, there's problems inherent to the .410 shell in that the projectiles are directly in front of one another.
nixstyx@reddit
I'd love to gear first hand experiences, because I've heard some of the shorter Judge's inaccuracy is a result of the rifled barrel. Spinning pellets causes them to spread out faster, so I could imagine that a longer rifle barrel would spin a shotgun wad even more and wouldn't actually improve accuracy. That's the theory. I don't know about practical results.
juggarjew@reddit
Its also able to run 3 inch .410 shells vs the normal judge only being able to run 2.5 inch shells.
pauliep13@reddit
JFC, I hope so. I remember taking my Judge to shoot once a few years ago. A buddy asked if he could run a few .410 shells through it, I said sure. I let him shoot a few of the 4 pellet buckshot shells I had.
I stood over to the side and watched him shoot. I remember watching when he shot, and one of the pellets hit the ground, maybe 6-7 feet in front of him, despite him holding it straight out horizontally. Absolutely comical.
PizzaPastaRigatoni@reddit
These could be actually cool if they weren’t rifled and you could put chokes on them.
salem_lakes_armory@reddit
What pisses me off is rossi/taurus wont sell you the stock for the circuit judge that will fit these. Boyds makes one though and i think because of the franklin armory settlement any dual round firearm isnt an nfa item.
NKCougar@reddit
Huh, I wonder if the ATF would shoot my dog for replacing the taurus grip with a Beretta one.
Also in what fucking world did the judge get this before the M9? I could have been the proud owner of a cosplay m93r
salem_lakes_armory@reddit
Im totally not following you with the Beretta stuff. What beretta grip? And what does the 93r have anything to do with the judge?
NKCougar@reddit
Sorry, I had a moment looking at the stock for the judge. I check every once in a while looking for the m93r style to be on the market and the Boyd one you mentioned actually looks pretty good
salem_lakes_armory@reddit
Ahh gotcha. Ya a 93r stock would be sick ..... Hummm
dutchmasterD717@reddit
Why do I want this
pauliep13@reddit
Idk, but I do too.
iFightForOurRights@reddit (OP)
Is that a Taurus Judge Home Defender in your pocket or are you just excited to see me?
Alternative-Fee-4555@reddit
Both
BBQSauce61@reddit
My grandma has a version of the Circuit Judge. Watching her dust squirrels with it is hysterical.
