Cruise bikes for casual commuting? At least 20 miles on a charge. Very hilly, swervy country, Appalachian roads. Step-through/ loop frame. As fast as I can get for 2000$

Ok so the hyper fixation has worn off. I had planned on saving up for Murf's Gigi. I was ignoring the speed & the lack of higher gears, because the design is so perfect & pretty, everything I want♡. Listen, before you call me names: I'm a girly-girl, and I love presenting that in everything I own! Anyway: I was forced to stop ignoring the top speed on the Gigi when I saw a video on here of a bike actually going 20mph & that really burst my bubble... Listen: Im still getting a frikken ebike, I simply cannot pay 5$ for gas & 800$ every other month in repairs.
Any recommendations? Google seems to have been bought by Amazon, Temu, & drop-shippers. Btw: I'd really super rather not use Amazon!!!

I get what you’re going for: something cute and step-through but still actually strong on hills. At around $2000, I’d skip style-first cruisers like the Gigi if speed and climbing matter. Bikes like the Aventon Level. A 2-step-through Ride1Up 700/500, Lectric XPress, or Velotric Discover 2 will handle hills way better and still cruise comfortably around 20–28mph depending on settings. For Appalachian roads especially, focus more on torque and hill performance than looks or top speed numbers.

I live in the foothills of the Appalachians and have been gradually
modifying my bike to cope with the steep inclines and declines.
I've found that two motors work much better than one;
more torque and all the electronics stay cooler.
AWD also improves the handling, evens tire wear and
balances the bike from front to rear.

This is incredibly helpful. I think I may just have to bite my intrapersonal bullet to buy an "ugly" bike & customize it to fit me anyway♡

I think that customization is the really fun part of ebike ownership and
so much more fulfilling.
I forgot to mention that 4-piston hydraulic brakes are a virtual
lifesaver on steep declines.

For 2000 I think you may be limited to hub drive, a velotric fold 1 plus is step through and the controller won’t limit you on throttle only so you can get up to 28 mph for hills and stuff.
