Every now and then they’ll fly in and go to Delta TechOps but this is my first time seeing it in person. Tail number UR-CKM
Sm0key-the-bear@reddit
Have they repainted UR-KDM or is it still neon green?
blhooray@reddit
“CAVOK” on the tail….
YU_AKI@reddit
The operator is CAVOK Air
blhooray@reddit
“Cavok” is the old guys way of saying “Ceiling and visibility is OK”
YU_AKI@reddit
Oh I know! It's a great name for an airline (until you're hunking that thing into Gander on a snowy Tuesday night in February)

One of these passes over my house probably a couple of times a month, I can always tell what it is straight away because it sounds loud AF.

Could be the outbound flight to Belfast before heading to Shannon and on to Mirabel with the a220 wings.
Hot_Net_4845@reddit
Antonov Airlines' An-124s transport the wings themselves between Belfast and Mirabel. Cavok's An-12s transport wing components from Belgium and Turkey to Belfast for assembly
usernamesareclass@reddit
Mm ore recently that Belfast flight has gone via SNN rather than direct to Mirabel. Perhaps it was just conditions, but it felt like it was steady since winter.

Yeah I think it is, it's usually at about 20,000ft. They used to take off from Doncaster airport years ago so i used to see or hear them more often and a lot lower.

Here it is leaving Toronto CYYZ last June.

My favorite AN-12 registration is UR-CNT 😆 🤣 I was lucky enough to get inside that one before they loaded up their cargo
Ok-Strike-8617@reddit
I see it. I see what you did there.
chicouplebj@reddit

The AN12 visiting ATL is not rare at all!
aperturebomb@reddit
okay what’s the regular schedule then?
KehreAzerith@reddit
Airworthy an-12 flying in general is very rare, doesn't matter if it visits that airport often
