Rusty frame

64 ford Galaxie 500 was given to me for getting an old truck running. I don't have much experience with frame rust but I'm guessing this isn't worth fixing

Wonder how close these are to doing the crown Vic chassis swap??? they are great for pickups…

Thanks everyone for the quick input, I had a feeling she was toast. Found a solid frame for 1,800 but not sure how far I wanna go with this. Here's a Pic before and after pulling her out of the barn and washing!

The before picture really sells this after picture.
_clever_reference_@reddit
The after pic is a big improvement but the fact its still wet is helping a ton.

I love the look this one has. Try to save it or try pass it on to someone who will.
thesportsatellite@reddit
Looks like somebody already boogered some plate over the bottom once to hide lack of frame.
Maxzillian@reddit
Yup, someone already tried to throw a bandaid on it. This frame is done.
staffma@reddit
Looks like the underside of my 2010 GMC sierra lol. Body is not quite as bad but not salvageable without way more work than the truck is worth.
Beardo88@reddit
RIP. The rockers are rotted through so its not even worth putting it on a new frame, its going to fall apart when you lift the body off. Thats a parts car.
MechMeister@reddit
Try to get the new frame for cheaper.
Get the engine and transmission running as is, see if the rear end is any good. If it starts and drives, frame swap that thing
Cars_Music_GoodTimes@reddit
Agreed! If the rest of the mechanicals are good and you want to save it, a frame swap is possible if you have the right tools and space.
thecrapture@reddit
She's a beaut, frame swap if you have the willpower to save it. That frame is absolutely cooked.
itz_yoourboi08@reddit
Shit your car is cooked pall
fLeXaN_tExAn@reddit
If it's a 64 Fastback, you might consider the crazy amounts of metal fabbing to get the car saved. If its a box-top or a four door, it's time to set her off to pasture.

Finally a really rusted frame! This should be stickied. Notice the massive gaps and flakes. This frame is dangerous do not use and dont bother fixing. Replace if you can
404-skill_not_found@reddit
Yah, this one’s a little spooky. It would be great if you can find a usable frame.
KacerRex@reddit
You would need to replace that frame, or make a whole new one. That's sad I love those old gals.
Poil336@reddit
Yeah that's done for
