Quick, how much cash you got on you?

Just curious. This was always the line said before something was about to go down.
wyoflyboy68@reddit
I’m sitting here naked, where am I supposed to put it?
No-Flan3302@reddit
$60 in a drawer and $150 in change on top of my fridge in a coin bucket.
Rebel9788@reddit
$20, for the dispensary
nanariii@reddit
I got 5 on it
Hntrbdnshog@reddit
They don’t take cards at yours?
Clamwacker@reddit
In Oregon I've only used a card at one place. It was some weird 3rd party thing and only took debit cards. My card got flagged for fraud and I had to replace it.
Rebel9788@reddit
They do, but the one a half block from my apartment 60% of the time the card reader is down, so I carry $20, that way I don’t have to pay $4 to use their atm.
Jennos23@reddit
Why does this seem like the most weed dispo thing ever?
Jennos23@reddit
I just appreciate being a respectable middle aged woman and popping into the blunt store for a quick transactional visit and not have to watch some dude play video games for 45 minutes while his dog is all up in my business
Rebel9788@reddit
As long as they have my indica i don’t care. Plus I like being addressed as Señor.
Hntrbdnshog@reddit
That makes sense. My credit union reimburses atm fees so always just use the card. Also, props for being able to go through the dispo and only drop $20 lol.
TheVonSolo@reddit
I have $85 for the dispo.
After_Preference_885@reddit
We need at least 50 in Minnesota, our dispensaries haven't caught up yet
Rebel9788@reddit
Good to know. I’ll be in the twin cities next month.
Fun4TheNight218@reddit
On my person this very second? Zero. I'm in a PJ tank and my hubs' sweatpants, hanging out in the backyard in a hammock next to the fire pit with a drink, an audiobook, a blanket and 3 dogs. I dun need no steenkin cash

I came across a quarter in my purse a few days ago that I didn’t know was there, so I guess 25 cents.
tictacksmuggler@reddit

Eviltwin325@reddit
I try to carry around a lot of $5 bills for easy tipping. It makes me feel good to help others out 🤷
Burlington-bloke@reddit
$0.00 in cash. I have a World Elite MasterCard from Bank of Montreal with a staggering high limit. The balance is always paid off every month. My partner has a Credit Score of 898. To look at us, you wouldn't think we had a bean. My credit score is probably zero because I'm disabled and don't work. I guess you could say I'm a "Kept man."
CheerfullyCursed@reddit
Just a singular $1 bill.
hobbes_shot_second@reddit
Better keep dancing, Tuesday afternoon strip club crew.
CheerfullyCursed@reddit
I would be a great reverse stripper. People would pay me tons of money to put my clothes ON.
BoysenberryKind5599@reddit

In my house. More.
Embarrassed_Rule_269@reddit
60 bucks. For a long time I didn't carry cash, but I feel like a grown man should always have at least enough cash for coffee and a newspaper, so now I try to carry a little with me all the time. I also keep a hundred bucks hidden in my wallet where I can't see it for emergencies. 100 dollars isn't what it used to be, but it can get you out of a lot of tight spots. So 60 in spending money and 100 for emergencies. 160 dollars all together.
MrChichibadman@reddit

For some reason all the subway stations near me have more newspaper recycling bins than garbage cans or bottle recycling bins.
Despite the fact that there are no longer any free dailies, there's just the subscription newspapers that cost like $2 an issue that only senior citizens still read.

I love cash. Always have. The dirty looks the shopkeepers give me though are real when I hand them my notes. They always drop my coin change in my hand from a foot in the air because if our hands were to graze even lightly they would obviously die.
IndicationNo7551@reddit
You’d think shopkeepers would be happy, credit cards have fees.
Mandze@reddit
I have a one dollar bills in a drawer in case my kid loses a tooth and the tooth fairy needs to show up.
Also have a twoonie in my wallet from my last trip to Vancouver.
OllieFromCairo@reddit
Seems like a good time to point out that AAA will post up to $10,000 in bail for you if you are a member.
robhatescomputers@reddit (OP)
What about your buddy who was giving you a ride in his car but it broke down but you won't be there when the tow shows up just your buddy cuz you had to get going to "work".. can he get bailed out too?
OllieFromCairo@reddit
I think he's gonna need his own AAA.
But really, how many of us AREN'T AAA members at this point. We're all That Age.
Mail_Order_Lutefisk@reddit
We’re breathing down being in AARP Motoring Plan at this point, bro.
xrelaht@reddit
Does AARP do bail bonds?
Foulwinde@reddit
Minimum age for AARP is 18. Get those discounts early 😀
Sanchastayswoke@reddit
You don’t have to be a certain age to be a AAA member. I’ve been a member since I was 21, maybe earlier. I think you’re thinking of AARP maybe?
jesusmansuperpowers@reddit
Say what? There’s gotta be a lot of qualifiers on that!

For covered traffic violations
Serrajuana@reddit
Oh shit. Thanks for clarifying. That kills my plans for the rest of the day. 🤣
MCA2142@reddit
What were your plans for the rest of the day, OP?
Wait.
What did you do today *before* you made that comment?
Serrajuana@reddit
I went totally wild. Went to a doctor's appointment! My plans after were the same as every night. Try to take over the world! But alas, AAA does not have my back. Tsk.
ResurgentClusterfuck@reddit
Not op but
Sanchastayswoke@reddit

odin_the_wiggler@reddit
There's a limit to how many times you can use this, don't ask me how I know this.
OllieFromCairo@reddit
Oh. Oh no.
FormidableMistress@reddit
I'm really thinking I need to join AAA and AARP for all the perks.
Anemones_In__Spades@reddit
I have been a member for nearly 25 years and never knew this!
Hntrbdnshog@reddit
That fact could have saved me some bail money in the past 😐
martin-silenus@reddit
Wtf?
OllieFromCairo@reddit
That's why you'd ask how much cash people had before something was about to go down--so you could post bail for the guy who actually got caught.
Crowley-Barns@reddit
The US bail system is completely whack for those of us from… anywhere in the world outside the Philippines lol.
Just nuts.
martin-silenus@reddit
I mean, yes, but it just struck me as absolutely insane that AAA would offer bail as a member benefit. But it looks like they do?!
"Do you do crimes behind the wheel? Join AAA --we've got your back!"
ClifftonSmith@reddit
Is this BS?
IvenaDarcy@reddit
Damn never knew this! Somehow when I needed bail I had a credit card and the limit was lower than my bail but it went thru. I told my lawyer it wouldn’t and she like it did and I was like God (aka Visa) is good! Amen.
mrs_hippiequeen@reddit
✍️👀
river_tree_nut@reddit
Back in the early oughts if you received a speeding ticket in Wisconsin but had an out of state license, you had to pay the ticket on the spot or go to jail. Unless you had AAA, which technically posted bond for you, then you’d be allowed to pay by mail.

40€ as a backup in my phone case, just in case someplace is having trouble with their card payment system. Haven’t carried a wallet in years, and I think I was a (locally) rare laggard for a long time by not just shoving everything necessary into my phone case.

I’m a contractor and work at 1-2 houses per day, sometimes they pay in cash and/or give me tips, so once a month I take all the cash and deposit it.

IvenaDarcy@reddit
I keep money in that little pocket of my jeans for emergency usually no more than $40. I don’t even carry a license on me anymore. I have a pic of it on my phone (I live in a state that doesn’t allow digital wallet ID’s yet). I’m old enough that I rarely get ID’d so unless I’m flying, renting a car, etc I don’t carry ID. Crazy how everything is on our phone nowadays but also I’m a minimalist so I’m happy to not need a purse, wallet, etc. it’s nice to just grab our phones and go!
Clamwacker@reddit
In my state just a pic of your ID wouldn't cut it in most situations. It's technically illegal to be in a bar or buy alcohol/cigarettes in a store without a valid ID on your person. Could probably get away with it if stopped for a minor traffic violation since they can look it up, but if they wanted to it could be an issue.

Yeah my phone is my car key and my credit card now too so I often just leave the house with my phone and that's it. I miss pockets on days where it's pure athleisure though. This is a problem with being a woman. Never enough pockets.

Right now I've got $30 in my wallet, but that's only cause I'm going out of town soon(ish) and like to be prepared.
If I have cash in my wallet it's almost always either something someone else gave me and I haven't got it to the bank yet, or it's $2 bills that I give away as random gratuitities just for chucks.

I was introduced to the concept of the lucky hundy in the 90s. The idea being, a hundred dollars gets you a cab, a meal, a cheap hostel etc. I always have $100. Plus, I believe money attracts money. I can't be poor. I have $100. It's a mindset. It has to be a $100 note too. A bunch of 10s is not the same.

180 ish. I have been to more than one event where some vendors can't get their card reader to work or an announcement is made along everyone to put their phone on airplane mode because the local cell tower is overwhelmed and none of the vendors can get their card readers, venmo, etc to work. Besides, splitting a bill with cash is more satisfying than keeping yet another app on my phone that I won't use for any other purpose.
